Our Review of Our Diving Holiday in the Maldives We want to share our unforgettable diving holiday in the Maldives and can wholeheartedly recommend it. It was a fantastic experience that thrilled us in every way! 1. Organization by DivePoint Maldives A huge thank you to Kirsten and the DivePoint Maldives team! The entire organization was perfect. Changes and suggestions were handled easily via email, and everything went smoothly. We were particularly impressed by DivePoint’s professionalism and reliability – you feel truly in the best hands. We know Markus Hauck and Anna from Rannalhi a few years ago and greatly value the trustworthy and experienced work of this diving school. 2. Island of Fuvahmulah We chose to spend six days on this authentic local island, and it was the right decision. Fuvahmulah positively surprised us – the people are incredibly friendly, the atmosphere relaxed, and it remains untouristy. While there are no classic resort beaches or cocktails, the island offers authentic experiences and charming restaurants like Cool Banana. A refreshing alternative to the typical Maldivian experience. 3. Accommodation: Maa Thundi Our hotel, Maa Thundi, was an absolute gem! Modern, clean, and with great amenities like a pool and a rooftop terrace perfect for sunsets. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly – a place we would happily recommend. 4. Dive School: Fuvahmulah Shark Expedition The local partner dive school of DivePoint, led by Prof. Shah, was outstanding. The team was extremely careful and attentive, ensuring we always felt safe and well taken care of. The dive operation was excellently organized, with a clear and well-structured schedule. A highlight was the fantastic dive boat – spacious, comfortable, and perfectly equipped for the daily dives. The equipment was in excellent condition and affordable. Their strong focus on safety, always the top priority, particularly impressed us – a key aspect for us. 5. Dive Sites We have dived in various regions of the world (Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Red Sea), but what Fuvahmulah offers is unique: The Tiger Shark Encounters were an absolute highlight! Every day, one of our three dives included these incredible creatures, organized with the utmost respect and safety. The other dive spots around the island are solid, mostly up to 30 meters deep, with decent reefs. Large pelagic species are rare in the December season, except for the occasional thresher shark or white-tip sharks if you’re lucky. The hammerhead spot is challenging due to depth – unfortunately, we weren’t lucky here. Nevertheless, the tiger sharks alone make Fuvahmulah one of a kind! 6. Stopover in Hulhumalé: Hotel H78 Our stay at Hotel H78 in Hulhumalé was also fantastic. Located directly on the beach, it’s a comfortable option for a stopover in Male or Hulhumalé. We highly recommend this hotel as well. Our Conclusion: This holiday was perfect – from the top-notch organization to the warm hospitality o
