This is a truly wonderful, only two years new hotel where you can relax right by the ocean. The hotel is small, its territory is also not large, but every corner is wonderfully designed and manicured. At first, it was a little confusing that the hotel's restaurant area smoothly transitions into the sunbathing and pool area, but the hotel has only 17 rooms, a couple of them with a private pool, so both those who wanted to eat and those who wanted to relax in sun beds or swim in the pool, peacefully and sensitively coexisted in the small area, because during our stay all the guests were quiet couples with discreet behaviour and respect for the presence of others. The pool is quite small, but deep enough to refresh yourself in it, also swim a bit and of course soak in the fantastic ocean view and the presence of the magnificent plants of Sri Lanka, which are on the hotel territory. Breakfast with a view of the sunlit ocean, palm trees and pool was a wonderful start to each day. The a la carte breakfast had enough choices for different tastes, the food was very tasty and I would especially like to mention the delicious espresso. The hotel rooms were tasteful, modern, crisp clean, comfortable, large enough, with a private balcony overlooking the ocean. There was an espresso machine in the room and new bottles of drinking water and cookies were placed every day. The air conditioner in the room is very well adjustable so that it works quietly and at low intensity. The bed was large, the mattress and pillows were very comfortable., Spacious enough, well-equipped, modern bathroom, it also had everything you need for body care (with a very pleasant aroma!) The hotel staff is very professional, responsive and precise, everyone is ready to respond to the needs or wishes of the guests at any time. I would especially like to express my gratitude to one of the hotel managers, Nilanga. This was our last hotel during the Sri Lanka trip and on the way to the airport, I forgot my glasses at the hotel and Nilanga even agreed to bring them to another city and give my glasses to people from my country. My sincere gratitude for that!

We stayed at Ahu Bay for 3 nights at the end of our 2 week honeymoon trip around Maldives and Sri Lanka. This hotel was by far the best hotel we stayed in throughout our trip, and possibly one of the most luxurious we have experienced in Asia. The staff are all incredibly attentive and friendly - it was clear they really cared about customer service, down to little details such as a daily newspaper from our home country. The food here was a big highlight. As self-proclaimed "foodies" the service and menu here was excellent. We stayed half-board and my only complaint is that I couldn't finish it all! We treated ourselves to the candlelit beach gourmet dinner which I would highly recommend. After dinner we watched a turtle laying eggs on the beach about 30 meters from where we were sat which was an incredible experience. The room was immaculate and we were fortunate to be upgraded to the pool suite which was a very nice touch. The bed was super comfy the pillows were literally perfect. The only downside (if I can really call it that) is that during our stay there are some construction works going on next door for a new hotel. Clearly this can't be helped but the noise was very minimal and can only be seen from the beach. We would definitely revisit this hotel if we ever get the opportunity to again - worth every penny!

We just had a fantastic and relaxing 4-day stay at Ahu Bay after a busy 10-day tour of Sri Lanka. We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Our room was lovely, and we constantly had the balcony doors open to hear the sea outside. The food was spectacular - a real highlight. If you don't mind going in up to your elbows (I don't), the whole lagoon crab was flippin' amazing. The perfect little infinity pool next to the sea helped us cool off after some hard lounging and cocktail consumption (try a RaRa cocktail - yummy!) The beach was alive with hermit crabs and covered in shells. If I could click my fingers and go back there, I'd be on my way back right now! We felt really spoiled.
