Campus Residenz Munchen Garching

Far away from both, town and airport, this « business » hotel does definitely not step up to its promises. Check-in is slow without useful information about the hotel. Elevators work only every third try (I managed to get up but not the 10 people next to me who had been trying for the last 15 min). Rooms are modern, ok-sized but with a very small working place. No minibar, no room-service and restaurant closes at 9 PM. No magnifying mirror, no vanity set, no body lotion. And breakfast starts only at 7 AM. At least there’s a kettle but watch out, the water leaks out all over.

We loved everything about this hotel except for the bathroom. The beds were comfortable. The TV set up is nice. The automatic blinds were a nice modern touch. The breakfast area was very nice, good selection of foods in the morning. Everything from the room down to the common area were very clean. We did not use the gym, but the gym looked to be very nice. The proximity to the U-Bahn was the best part. It was a last stop, easy to get on, easy to get off, about a 20 to 25 minute ride to Oktoberfest. do not waste your money paying for parking, there is ample outdoor parking right next to the hotel. we had no problems finding a spot at any time. The weird part is the bathroom. They have a shower that has three sides to it, but no back. So all of the water is constantly squirting out of the shower and into the main part of the bathroom. Everything gets soaked. There’s just no way to stop that. maybe they could put a curtain in? Or a fourth wall? it was just very odd all together. my wife and I just ended up sacrificing a couple towels to sop up all the water that was constantly coming out of the shower. If it weren’t for the shower, I would give my stay five stars. Everything is top notch, but they’re going to have to do something about these showers- I hope this is Marriot experimenting with something, and realizing it was an epic fail.
