Staying in Gatehouse of Fleet for a week,we tried the restaurant here on our first night. The menu had a good choice of food , the staff were lovely and gave us a quiet corner table accommodating us and our three dogs. The food was lovely (chicken curry+ rice and a steak pie,mash+veg),sadly no room for dessert. However the table next to us ordered desserts + they did look fab!

The facilities and service were excellent. The staff all adhered to the mantra of “no problem” which contributed hugely to our enjoyment. The food was also excellent and reasonably priced - there was never a feeling that we were being rushed, even on our first evening when we were last to leave the dining room. All in all, a first class experience with even the weather playing ball!

This hotel is a true gem. Just returned after 2 nights with friends. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom, spotlessly clean with a great selection of teas, coffees and biscuits. We had dinner both nights and the food was first class, as were the breakfasts. The staff both in the evening and the morning are an asset to this hotel. We hope to return in the future and would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I booked directly and from my initial call to leaving, it was an absolute pleasure. Everybody was friendly and helpful, room was clean, bed was comfy -what more do you need when away from home with work! Would definite;y return Oh - and the restaurant attached was 5 star too, breakfast and evening meals both well worth the visit - thank you

Lovely room, spotlessly clean . We had room 10 which is in the eves. Very spacious and comfortable. Luxurious bathroom with large bath tub and walk in shower. Slept well, very peaceful. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Looking forward to a return trip. Highly recommend.

We were really looking forward to a 2-day visit, sitting by a log fire, enjoying "award winning" food only to be told on arrival that the restaurant was closed for January, due to staff holidays. Not a great start. The overpriced room was ok. Will not be back.

This was quite a good works night out. My colleagues agreed that their food was generally a bit underwhelming but one or two of them enjoyed their meals. I felt that my meal was extremely poor value for money. Smoked salmon starter which was a dish of lettuce with a couple of pieces of salmon on top might be forgiven for a starter but the main was ridiculous. This comprised a half a plate of potatoes with undercooked green beans and a microscopic amount of grey mullet. The sauce tasted OK but this is absolutely not fine dining and I did not expect a child's portion. For the price a total joke.

We were there for a two day midweek break. Check in was quick by a friendly receptionist and room was ready on arriva Room was on the first floor and very spacious. Beds were large and very comfortable. Bathroom was spotless with an excellent shower. The village was very quiet and we had an excellent sleep We had dinner on the first night. Good choices on the menu and plentiful, plates were cleared. Breakfast was excellent again with plenty of choice served by a bubbly waitress. Only tiny issue was breakfast served between 7:30 and 9:00 otherwise great wee hotel and restraunt excellent location for plenty of walking nearby.

A pleasant stay right in the heart of Gate House of Fleet. The owners and staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help us. The food was delicious from the breakfast to the evening meal. We had a lovely room with a large bath and separate shower. The room was spacious, with tea & coffee making facilities. Including a coffee pod machine. We loved it and hope to return in the summer.
