What a charming hotel! It's a very classic looking castle with all the modern amenities you could want. We had a wonderful time wandering the grounds and I could totally see why people book this as a wedding venue. The restaurant was also excellent for both breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, we opted for the included Continental Breakfast which was more than enough for two people. They also have a hot breakfast that's available for a separate fee. For dinner, we went with the prefix menu and were delighted by the menu of the day and the variety of wines that were available.

Ideally located in a wooden area, the castle, rebuilt and redecorated by the Empress Eugenia de Montijo (spouse of Napoleon III), is magnificent. The place has kept its historic atmosphere. The welcome is professional and smiling, the service to customers is dedicated and the rooms are just gorgeous ! A must stay when in Basque Country ! A special thanks to Ana for her friendly, attentive and smiling assistance ! Idealmente situado en una zona arbolada, el castillo, reconstruido y redecorado por la emperatriz Eugenia de Montijo (esposa de Napoleón III), es magnífico. El lugar ha conservado su atmósfera histórica. La acogida es profesional y sonriente, el servicio a los clientes es esmerado y las habitaciones son simplemente magníficas. Una estancia obligada en el País Vasco. Un agradecimiento especial a Ana por su amable, atenta y sonriente asistencia.

Un castillo auténtico, con su foso, sus bodegas, sus torres, su historia nobiliaria, aunque sea del siglo XXI y con una habitación más grande que mi piso. El restaurante es muy bueno y el desayuno también. Ni siquiera el precio es excesivo para lo que ofrece. Sólo falta que reabran la piscina.

L’hôtel est très photogénique de part sa structure (véritable château fort) et son parc alentour très vert et bien entretenu. L’accueil : la réception est installée dans la salle de restaurant. De certaines tables on peut voir l’arrière de ce meuble réception et ce n’est pas très « classe ». Le personnel rencontré est courtois et avenant. Notre chambre est dans l’une des tours de guet en dehors du bâtiment principal. Espace très atypique. La chambre est froide (16°). Elle n’a pas été préchauffée pour nous accueillir. Le strict nécessaire : quelques boissons dans le frigo, un seul fauteuil de salon, un petit canapé 2 places et une télévision cachée dans un vaisselier. Que des chaines espagnoles. Pas de chaine d’informations que ce soit en français ou en anglais. Les « fenêtres » sont les meurtrières donc il y a peu de lumière. Il n’y a pas d’éclairage au-dessus du canapé. Il est impossible de lire à cet endroit. La salle de bain est complète mais faire croire à de l’authentique ancien avec des robinets sans mitigeur c’est gaspiller l’eau et pas bon pour la planète. Une serviette est trouée (déchirée) et les peignoirs sont dans le placard de la chambre, l’un dans un sachet plastique hermétique, l’autre ficelé avec du lien en plastique. Atypique oui mais certainement pas avec les prestations d’un hôtel 4 étoiles.

Hôtel authentique, on a vraiment la sensation d'être isolé. Parking privé, le parc invite à la promenade, la terrasse offre une belle vu. Le personnel est très accueillant et serviable, le petit déjeuné est copieux et varié, il est servi à table. Le dîner était très bon, nous avons même eu le droit à une visite guidée du château (caves, ...) à la fin du repas. La chambre familiale est agréable avec une belle SDB, une mezzanine pour les lits des enfants, mini bar gratuit et coffre fort. Seul bémol nous avions demandé à ce que le chambre ne soit pas faite et ce fut le contraire malgré le 'carton' sur la poignée de porte, petit problème de carte (vite résolu). En résumé un séjour agréable où les désagréments sont oublié aux vues du contexte et de l'aimabilité du personnel.

Sublime ! Chambre confortable et spacieuse. Personnel accueillant et au petit soin à l'hôtel comme au restaurant. Repas et pdj délicieux. Il manque juste une piscine pour faire de cet établissement une perfection Nous aurions aussi apprécié un service de bagagiste et une petite collation/ cocktail à l'arrivée.

Charmant dans un environnement serein. La chambre est spacieuse et confortable dans un cadre particulièrement bien travaillé et pensé. Le restaurant est particulièrement bon et le service est d'un excellent niveau.

Un donjon néo médiéval en pleine campagne basque, des chambres dans l'esprit du bâtiment, à l'ancienne mais avec tout le confort souhaitable, un accueil agréable et des possibilités de promenade importantes dans le parc naturel ou même Bilbao à 40 mn.Pour un séjour original au calme. très recommandable
