Great hotel, the company has a lot of hotel like this, the are clean, the food are so good.

Room was spacious, clean and up to date. We have a lower floor room, which gave us a view to the parking lot. It gave a feeling of staying in the garage, but as we did not stay in the room other than for sleep, I did not bother to change. There was a corporate event going on while we were there, so the lobby was full of people with stands. Definitely not giving the quiet countryside atmosphere we were looking for! We extended the stay without knowing, and this type of information would have been useful while we were deciding! Next time, we will go to hotel Kronenburg again.

Hotel Burg Schwarzenstein offers a truly unique experience, combining modern comfort with the charm of a historic castle. One of the absolute highlights is having breakfast in the beautifully restored castle, with breathtaking views over the vineyards — a moment to remember! The surrounding wine region offers fantastic walking opportunities, making it a great place to unwind and explore nature. This hotel is definitely worth another visit, especially in spring or late summer, when the vineyards are in full bloom. Highly recommended for a relaxing and memorable getaway!

Well maintained property. Great location. Well trained staff. A flattering to the palate menu at the restaurants. Perfectly appointed bedroom.

We spent two beautiful nights at the hotel . Our room Was spacious and surrounded by fantastic trees . The welcome by the staff were civil but certainly not overly warm. I attribute that to the culture . We ate at both restaurants. Both were excellent but the level of cooking at Mueller was much higher . Michelin star level for sure with excellent service . My starter of burrata and tomatoes with a basil Sorbet will not be forgotten . The only fault are the towels. Some of the thinnest I have ever experienced at this level of hotel but given everything else it was only a small irritation. Definitely worth staying at.

We stayed in nice hotels on this trip. This was the best of the best. It is located near a tiny hamlet called Johannesburg which is near the Rhine River. Town does have a couple of restaurants and also a bank with an ATM machine. There is also a Shell station very close to the hotel. Located on a beautiful vineyard. Hotel is spacious, relaxing, tranquil. It is a modern two story structure. One drives through a gated entrance (no guards, left open). Parking surrounds the hotel and is easy. Next to the parking is a building housing two restaurants that have incorporated the remains of a 19th century pseudo castle. Room was very large, elegant, modern. Bathroom also large and modern. Bed was comfortable but the cot they brought in was torture. Window faced the front of the hotel. We could see the 'castle', vineyard. Hotel staff were very nice. Provided us with gifts of wine and other amenities. I had concerns booking this. We wanted to spend several days seeing the Rhine river castles and I was worried it was too far from that. Adding to my concern was that it was only 35 minutes to drive to Frankfurt airport. So I thought this was out of the way. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel was a great base for exploring the best parts of the Rhine. Drive along the river was pictureque and we could easily reach what we wanted to see in a short time. The hotel is located on a slope rising above the river. Driving downhill through the small town brought us to the river's edge. There is a car ferry that runs frequently taking one to the other side so we did that one day. Another day we drove the highway on our side of the river. Both were great drives. Getting to the airport on our last day was quick and easy (helped that it was Sunday when everything is closed). FYI - for those with a rental car you can fill up at the airport just as you get to the rental return/departure area.

Nothing to complain about the room size and equipment. The breakfast is also good and especially the view from the breakfast room is hard to beat. Would also comeback for a romantic getaway. Nice winemakers are also close by. If it wasn’t for the price I would warmly recommend this to everyone

Stunning place. Excellent staff, cuisine, location and hideaway. Highly recommended if you would like to visit the German Rheingau wine region. Close to the Rhein river overlooking a splendid panorama. Rooms fully equipped with all you need, quite and super interior. Hotel bar, parking in front of the building including E charger in case your needs electricity. Massive shout-out to the staff. We felt every second welcome. Really like a second home 👍👏👏👏

Aussergewöhnlich zuvorkommende Gastgeber…exzellentes Restaurant…wunderschöne und gepflegte Zimmer…einfach TOP! Das einzige was vielleicht fehlt wäre noch eine kleine Wellness Anlage. Die Lage ist für Ausflüge jeder Art geeignet.

Die Burg ist traumhaft schön mit verschiedenen Restaurants. Toller Ausblick über die Weinberge. Das Personal ist professionell und sehr freundlich. Die Restaurants bieten eine ausgezeichnete Küche. Man fühlt sich willkommen. Wir kommen wieder.

Wunderschön und idyllisch in den Weinbergen über dem Rheintal gelegen. Tolle Architektur und Einrichtung. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen, Laufstrecken, Radtouren.. sowie Sightseeing im Rheingau. Das Zimmer war schön, gut durchdacht und hatte einen großem Balkon; der Service professionell freundlich; meines Erachtens etwas nachlässig und nicht unbedingt herzlich. Das Frühstück hatte eine gute Auswahl; etwas irritiert hat mich, dass am Büffet die bereitstehenden Brotkörbchen für das Brot/die Semmeln noch die Brösel des/der Vortage/s enthielten Das Hotel selbst hat keinen Fitness- und/oder Spabereich. Hier kann man die Fitnessstudios der Umgebung auf Tagestickets usw. anfragen. Ansonsten bietet die perfekte Lage in den Weinbergen Wanderungen: Laufrunden, Radtouren... in schönster Natur.

Wer mit einer Burg dunkle Mauern, kleine Fenster und düstere Kemenaten assoziiert, ist hier falsch. Die Burg Schwarzenstein thront in Alleinlage oberhalb des Rheins, inmitten von Weinbergen. Es fächelt stets ein leichter Wind, und auch das Ambiente im Hause, beginnend mit der großzügigen Lobby, bis hin zu den lichtdurchfluteten Zimmern atmet Frische und Weitläufigkeit. Überreste der ehemaligen Burg wurden ins Burgrestaurant integriert, aber auch dort blicken große Fenster über das Rheintal, und es herrschen lichte Töne vor. Kein Platz für finstere Rittergeschichten, sondern für bekennende Genießer.
