Hotel Seespitz

After the surprise of the view from my 'lake view' nroom, everything was wonderful. (Ignoring the faxt it takes 45 mins to walk around the lake, I had visions of a HUGE lake with passenger boats!) My room was very spacious and comfortable.the balcony was not very deèp as it is typical chalet style but very nice to sit out on during the day. Comfortable chairs are provided. The food was delicious. Service was organised. As part of a group we reserved our table for the whole holiday. The dinner menu was on the table from late the previous night and choices were ticked for collection at breakfast. We were all served at the same time. The hotel has a fantastic location. A few minutes walk from the small town, much of which is pedestrianised. I didn't use the spa or pool but others enjoyed them. Staff were all friendly in a spontaneous manner - not formal or officious. Lots of info. I left my mobile in a pharmacy while out walking and in tiredness left it behind. The lively man on reception called the shop and dealt with it for me - thankfully. Lots to see and do. Good transport. A special tourist card was issued to each guest with accom details and a variety of activities were free to holders. I tried 'Forest Bathing'. Good opportunity to try something new. Lots of other more mainstream things to do. I hope to go back. Thank you all at Seespitz.

A very late review, but the memory is still very clear! We've been regular visitors to Seefeld and changed to staying in this hotel for Christmas 2022 and have since stayed for Christmas in 2023 and 2024. Everything about this hotel is wonderful - breakfast, amazing evening meals, spa/ pool area is on another level, lovely lounge/ bar area and very friendly, efficient staff - Plamen the stand-out person of our last 2 years. We're taking a year off in 2025 but expect we'll return in 2026

We have just returned from a week in this fabulous hotel. Since returning, my husband has been telling everyone who will listen about it & that he will never find another hotel as good as this wherever he goes! We stayed in room 216 - a deluxe room, which was huge, and more storage space & coat hangers than I have ever come across.It had a view of the lake and a large balcony. As with other reviews, the food was plentiful and to a very high standard. I am a 'picky eater' but found at least 1 main course I could eat from the choice - and the waiters were happy to alter anything e.g. substituted potatoes for the risotto/ice cream instead of a dessert choice. The desserts were fabulous and one day came with an unexpected, homemade brandy snap. When I mentioned next morning that the brandy snap the evening before was fabulous, the owner said I should have asked for more! No good telling me that the morning after :). We have never come across such obliging, friendly, staff - including the maids. Every morning at breakfast & every evening at dinner, the owner went to every table to check everything was OK - a fantastic gesture. Every afternoon, there were complimentary cakes in the bar area. The weather was mixed - as you would expect in the mountains, but the spa meant there was something to do even when it rained. We could fault nothing with this hotel. If we were returning to Seefeld, we would not stay anywhere else - the best hotel & location in the village.

Much has been said in praise of this hotel and I'm not about to change that. It is one of the most efficiently run 4* hotels I have stayed in and the staff are well trained to ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable stay. They were particularly helpful with my gluten free diet and the service in the restaurant was first class. Special mention needs to be make of Micheal, who I think should be Employee of the Year, for his attentiveness, friendliness but lack of stuffiness. The recently built (18 month) spa extension, which is large, attractive and thoughtfully planned, leads on to a toasty outside swimming pool with views of the lake beyond. A great place to spend time particularly on a gloomy rainy day. Many great walks right from the doorstep. Well recommended.

We returned to the Seespitz in July, 40 years after our first stay as 19 year olds in 1976. The hotel is as delightful as it was then. Back to 2016 - The staff are lovely, very helpful and welcoming. The food was excellent, with a choice of 3 meals on the evening meal menu (which we selected at breakfast), and we were not disappointed with our choices each day, though alternatives were available on asking. The chef and team are excellent, providing top quality meals which I would never tire of! A lot of care was obviously taken with the presentation of the food. The room was very comfortable with wonderful views over the town and a mountainous backdrop. There was more than enough wardrobe space. We did have a shared balcony, but there isn't a lot of room. Fine for sitting reading though! We loved the swimming pool and spa area (look out for the little frogs!). There was mini golf available too, though we did not use this on this occasion. The hotel is on the lakeside, and there are plenty of opportunities for walking. We would certainly pay a return visit to the Seespitz!

Just returned from a week at this Hotel, only possible criticism could be that it was not long enough! It is situated right on the shore of the lake and looking out from our balcony, before us was one of the most idyllic views possible with lake, forest, and distant snow capped mountains. The service is impeccable from the maid who made the room spotless, to the waiters at mealtimes, bar staff, reception, and senior staff, who are always in attendance. Many of the hotels I have been to could learn a thing or two from this one. The 6 course gala dinner was absolutely stunning and will be remembered for a long time. Breakfast had everything you could ask for and more, dinner was varied with buffet starter (tons of choice), soup, choice of mains, choice of sweet, and then some very interesting local cheeses. Wine list is extensive, maybe a little on the pricy side perhaps, but try the Blaufrankisch varieties, better than the more common Zweigelt, we thought. This is Austria so don't be surprised if veal turns up more than once on the menu, but if you like to try good food cooked their way, you will not be disappointed, a good sign was that at weekends the place was full of Austrians. We went with Inghams who have loads of knowledgeable staff there, and who looked after us very well. Sadly we had chosen a week of bad weather but it didn't detract greatly from our enjoyment, although when its cloudy naturally the visibility is lost in the mountains so low walking was the order of the day. This is a heavily forested part of Austria so expect to walk along tracks where the views are limited sometimes, but when they do open up, there is some spectacular scenery.
