Visionapartments Place de Cornavin - Contactless Check-IN

Our visit here was great, the location was perfect 6 minutes on the train from airport and walking distance to all other local attractions and places to visit. Visit includes free public transport pass for the duration of our stay. Special mention to Michael on reception who was great in giving us local recommendations to eat and where to visit. Without him we may have not found some hidden gems!

Hotel was very basic with very little amenities. Acceptable for what it was, however it did feel like a hostel rather than a hotel. Rooms are not cleaned daily. Staff were unaccommodating. No option available for late check out despite the fact half the hotel was empty and there were no cleaners working until lunchtime when we stayed. Very odd. Location was the only positive. We did not have breakfast, however witnessing what was on offer, it definitely was not worth while paying for. Would not recommend and definitely would not stay again.

Room was nice and bed was comfy. Unfortunately the stay was marred by really poor customer service. On the first occasion I asked the receptionist to chase up my request to get a refund for breakfast as we were needing to check out before it began and we were told that the manager who was able to deal with that wasn’t available until Monday (this was Saturday). In the morning both lifts were switched off so we had to haul 2 big suitcases down 5 flights of stairs. The receptionist was late for work so I rang the customer service line to report the lifts out of service and was told that I should just tell the person on site who “must be somewhere in the building speaking to another client”. She wasn’t. She rocked up 1/2 hour late and when I explained the lifts weren’t working she gave me a look like “and your problem is?” This company just want your money. If it is going to need any effort after you have paid then they are not interested.

Great stay at Vision Apartments, amazing location (all within walking distance)! Train station literally opposite - good for travelling to Montreux - to save some money we actually booked tickets from Lausanne to Montreux as the hotel gives a free local travel pass (which covers up to Lausanne). Reception staff were lovely and helpful too. We did have to wait a while to check in, maybe an hour or so. The room doesn’t get cleaned (stayed for 3 nights) and only had one socket which took one travel adapter, otherwise all other sockets were their local. Overall, a good stay here in Geneva!

A great hotel for short city breaks Pros: The hotel is close to all amenities including, cafes, bars, restaurants, lake Geneva and Cornavin Train station. Hotel is basic but clean and well equipped with basics including TV, shower etc. 10-15 mins drive from Geneva airport The hotel provides a free travel pass for the canton of Geneva, so free travel on bus, train and tram around Geneva. Self check in with pin code to enter hotel and room Rooms are well sound proofed Cons: The rooms are not cleaned daily, as I said ideal only for short city break stays. Summary: If staying for up to 3 nights this hotel is perfect, Geneva is expensive so be prepared. I’d recommend catching the train to Annecy for the day (1hr train journey) or Montreux (1 hour) for more picturesque scenery, the train costs around 30-50 euros return and the scenery is beautiful on the journey. I’d recommend downloading the SBB App to book and plan any train journeys.

Dissapointing that the amenities in the room for tea and coffee they only provide decafe coffee as they expect you to purchase coffee from the machine in reception. Did not have sachets for the room Staff are friendly and were always puntual with communication prior to arriving for our stay. The location for this accommodation is incredible, being opposite Geneva train station which has brilliant transport links to be able to get out and explore. The water fountain at the lake is a 10 min walk and the broken chair is also a short walk away, room was clean and they also provided handy essentials such as ahampoo, conditioner, soap etc Must do - Take the train to montreux - beautiful location. Lovely irish bar which overlooks the river is defo worth a visit Glacier 3000 - easy to do by train instesd of the overpriced tours and with a train ticket you can get 50% off the glaicer 3000 ticket Chocolate factory in BROC ride on the old style 1920s train belle poke Best transport ticket if not going all over is the regional pass
