This hotel is situated next to the Port area with a major road and elevated expressway in between. If you dare.e to open the windows to get fresh cool air, the noise level is overwhelming. Opening the windows is necessary as the air conditioning does not seem to work efficiently, if at all! The breakfast is nothing to write home about and, on our second day, I got an omelette with mushrooms that was swimming in oil that totally overpowered the taste of the mushrooms. The sides of avocado and bacon arrived 10 minutes after the omelette. Toast was asked for as a side plate, but arrived covered with avocado. Not what was ordered and a waitress who had very limited English didn't help. Cancelled breakfast for the final day and hot our own. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathroom is a good size but water pressure limited and be prepared to wait 5 minutes for the hot water to arrive when starting up the shower. If we are back here in Genoa, I would look elsewhere to stay.

This hotel looks fantastic on the website, but don't let that mislead you.  We arrived after a cruise and a long train ride; we were very much looking forward to staying in a "Luxury Duplex" with some extra space and comfort for my family. This was far from the truth. After entering our room, the temperature inside the room was 26C. I immediately went to turn on the AC, which didn't work.  I immediately went to the front desk and let them know that the AC was not working at all.  He came to the room and pretended to set the AC, but only turned on the fan.  After sitting there sweating with my entire family for a while, we decided to open the huge window facing the VERY busy and noisy street. I played with the AC control panel only to find that the AC had been disabled completely and only the 'Heat' and 'Fan' options were available.  They do this at the maintenance level to conserve electricity. COMPLETELY unacceptable as the temperature in the unit was now 25C (with the window open) and a sweltering 29C in the upper level of the unit. I went back to the desk again to have the AC turned on.  I was told that because it was 'Winter', the use of AC was not allowed.  The Front Desk Agent was useless, Rude and not helpful at all.  I don't care if it's Winter, there is no way my family is going to be able to sleep in a sauna. I went back to the front desk only to be given more excuses; I asked to speak to the Property Manager, who was 'unavailable'.  We went out for dinner, leaving the window wide open in hope that it would cool the unit down.  Not the case again, due to the design of the room, there is no way to properly ventilate it without using the perfectly good AC system that is disabled because it's 'Winter'.  We tried to sleep with the window open, which was Incredibly noisy due to the heavy traffic and late night activity in the area.  We all tried to sleep with earplugs, but it was simply way to hot and loud. Horrible experience that was completely avoidable.  skip this place altogether...

We booked a room in this hotel 2 months in advance, using the hotel website (so that the hotel does not have to pay fees to a booking platform). We unfortunately lost track of the booking and hotel information. Strangely enough, we did not receive any message or information from the hotel before our arrival time (inquiring about our arrival time or parking requirements for instance, which is what we are used to and would have of course allowed us to find back our booking information, including the hotel name) and as we did not show up, not a single message inquiring about why we were not arriving. I admit it was really stupid from us to lose track of our reservation, but obviously this hotel takes the money and does not care about its guests and their whereabouts.

Perfect location by the old port. Places of interest close by , plus lots of great restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel is in an old palazzo and has lots of character. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. There is a good selection of food available at breakfast.

The hotel is over the third and fourth floor of a Genoese palace. The palace is situated under the 11th century colonnades facing the Porto Antica, and is thus central for walking everywhere in the beautiful old town.The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, with modern accoutrements. The dining room is beautifully appointed and decorated in a fin de siècle style. Réception and service staff were extremely helpful, courteous, efficient and profession. Special mention goes to ever smiling Chiara. This hotel is a real find!

We booked two rooms but unfortunately hotel problem required us to stay in dull, claustrophobic apartment around the corner. Staff were very apologetic and we still had breakfast in hotel. Fold out bed for two adults was so uncomfortable they did give us one room in hotel which was very comfortable. If we had these rooms from the start review would be better.

This hotel is about 15 rooms on parts of two floor of an old palace style building. It's a little challenging to get to the front desk as the outside door is in between the two McDonald's doors. Then you can either take the elevator (which we didn't see) or haul yourself up a couple of very tall floors. Once you're inside the hotel, it's quite nice. We asked for a quiet room and they put us at the far end of the hallway. It was very quiet for most of the three nights we were there but the middle night had a baby screaming in the room next door and it could be heard quite clearly (which was surprising for a newly remodeled property). Our room was huge but I can tell that most of the rooms are of different sizes and shapes to fit into the building. It's hard for me to give this property a simple number rating. If it weren't for the lack of soundproofing, I'd give it 5 dots. But since the baby screamed until 1am, then you could hear the parents talking for quite a while after that, we didn't get a good night's sleep that night. And on this trip, we stayed in 16 different hotels and this one night was the worst of 43 total nights. We didn't hear any other noise during our three days but we could hear the commotion next door so clearly. So I'm giving it 4 dots and I'm not sure I'd stay here again.

Liked · The Reception staff were very friendly, helpful and full of advice on where to eat and what to see. Chiara in particular was amazing. Disliked · The air conditioning in our room (206) was not good - whilst it appeared to be operational it did not cool the room sufficiently.
