The George Penang by The Crest Collection recensioner

My wife and I chose the George because of its location in the center of the Heritage district and positive reviews of the building and its rooms. We had heard that food was not good so we chose not to include breakfasts during our stay there. Because we did not have any food at the hotel I can’t give an opinion about it. I would think you might consider trying the food because of my next comments. People said the wait to check in was very long. When we checked in we were well informed as to what was available and where to find anything we wanted while in town within just a few minutes. Every time we walked by the front desk all week it looked the same. Things were moving quickly and guests had happy faces. We had a King Deluxe room which was very attractive. Reviewers said that the rooms were not provided with soap or other amenities. In the bathroom we found boxes with the hotel’s name and logo that contained toothbrushes with Colgate toothpaste samples (that were replaced daily), combs, sanitary bags, shower caps, a razor and body lotion. The shower had wash gel, shampoo and conditioner. The sink had a substantial bar of soap that was only replaced when requested. We didn’t need to replace our for three days. It was that large. I would agree that housekeeping is slower than I’d like, some days the rooms weren’t serviced until 2-4 pm. Lastly, there is a music club just across the street from the George and at times you could hear the bass rumbling in the hallways. We solved the problem by requesting a room as far away from the club as possible and the desk clerk cheerfully accommodated us. All in all our visit was an excellent experience.
