The bathroom is amazing, love the hot tube The bathroom is fantastic, and I absolutely loved the hot tub! The location is great—situated in George Town and just a short walk from Loong Feng Tea House, where you must try the kaya.

Great hotel, perfect location. The interior is very nice. Highly recommended.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the old town quarter. The facilities are very moderate for the hotel price. The room was nice and comfortable. We love the universal sockets available in the room, making no need for the adapter.

很具有南洋特色的酒店，很有格調，也安靜。如果有電梯就更好了。

酒店位於舊城區,舊樓改造,但設上有些風格,房間衛生良好, 窗是有的,但是不會打開窗簾,因為與鄰窗很貼近。 前台一位接待識廣東話,他們服務很熱誠。 附近300米有大排檔,大排檔對面是網紅餐廳,晚上十分多人。 疫情下,外來旅客少,喬治市都靜,到傍晚及星期天,當地人出來活動 氣氛才有點改善。

The bedroom was in a loft, so the bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities & a minibar were down stairs. This made the unit very spacious with the bedroom having even space for a sofa (possibly a pull-out bed, but we didn't verify). However, a caution for older visitors who may not like climbing the stairs up & down to use the bathroom facilities, especially at night! The bed was definitely firm and comfortable. The whole property also does not have a lift. So unless your room is on the ground floor, bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor will require you to take the stairs (so be mindful if you have luggage). I worked around it by leaving my luggage with the reception and just brought what I needed for my overnight stay to the room. The service was certainly friendly and accommodating. We checked in our bags one day prior to check-in because we couldn't bring our luggage up to Penang Hill for our stay there (on the furnicular train).

I stayed for two nights at this property, and it was quite a pleasant stay. The room is quite spacious for a solo traveler like me, and I would think that couples would have no issue with the size of my room as well. As the name of the hotel implies, my room was designed with a somewhat retro look but yet looked very nice to take photos with. There were USB wall sockets which was much appreciated. The TV comes with both local TV channels as well as YouTube and streaming services which is a plus for me. The only drawback I felt was my room was on the first floor and a part of it was facing a walkway, so I had to draw down the curtains for better privacy. They have an in house restaurant although I did not use it at all given Penang's excellent choices for food nearby. The location is not bad as it is within walking distance to places such a the Clan Jetties and Armenian Street, as well as a popular Hainan-style cafe (Loong Fong Cafe) for example. Would definitely consider to come back to Rare Heritage House if I ever visit Penang again!

Located in the heart of Georgetown, perfect to navigate from and explore. Friendly efficient check in. Quiet room was spacious and comfortable with spotless bathroom. Staff were very courteous and considerate. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

The place is well situated but very inconvenient for parking and one way streets - no fault of the hotel of course . Reception was easy to check in but they do not help with bags and there are no elevators . We booked a room for 3 but practically had to insist on bedding for the sofa bed as there was no assistance or information at all. The water pressure was good and the hotel is very clean . It’s not great for noise insulation . Overall it was a good stay but I don’t think I would return again - service was mediocre .

This is an old house part of the patrimony. It's special, the location is great. It's easy to visit George Town on foot The staff is very kind and carried pur luggage from our room on the 1st floor Check in even late went smoothly so that we could go to eat upon arrival it was 23:00 I appreciated that they said we shall do the check in when you come back from dinner. The room is like in the picture I didn't like the bathroom which got everytime full of water when showering A shower door could be put there

A really lovely hotel right on the edge of the tourist area. Perfect for quiet rest but so easy to stroll in to the tourist centre. The rooms are fantastic value and have everything you need. Air conditioning plus a ceiling fan made for a very comfortable stay in a very hot and humid city. Rooms are filled with great heritage features but without being clutered. The hotel is only two floors (ground and one above) and built in traditional, heritage buildings so have the real character of Georgetown throughout. The staff are especially helpful and always quick with a smile and a greeting. There is a small wine focused restaurant (Ferment) accessed from the hotel reception area - good wine selection when compared to most restaurants in Malaysia and very professional staff. If you drink alcohol it’s definitely worth calling in. I highly recommend this great little hotel 10/10!

The location is great. In the middle of George Town. The hotel is new I think. The front office guy was good & helpful. The room was going back to 70s. I like the decor. The room is clean and smell good. The bathroom was great. Not much facilities here such as swimming pool, gym. They just open a restaurant beside it. They sell their own ice cream. Sedap..... Have to look for your own parking here. Had a good stay here.
