Baladerry Inn

My husband and I were on an extended weekend golf trip for his birthday. We were so happy to have found this wonderful, relaxing Inn. It is off the beaten path which made it soooo relaxing. Unfortunately, the weather did not lend itself to the use of the hot tub but we can save that for our return trip in the fall. Each morning was a delicious homemade breakfast. Judy is a wonderful cook. The Inn has so much history in itself but Judy and Kenny made us feel included in that history.

I have been visiting Gettysburg multiples times a year, for 24 years now, and I have stayed in nearly every hotel and B&B. Over half of the places I have stayed in, I would recommend. At the VERY TOP OF MY LIST -- My FIRST CHOICE -- is THE BALADERRY INN. It checks of ALL of my required boxes. The rooms are beautiful. It is always really clean. Judy & Kenny are always accommodating. The Inn is gorgeous, and so is the country setting (with woods all around). When I get a first-floor room, I love sitting on my private patio and seeing the deer & turkey come out of the woods and forage on the back lawn while I drink coffee in the late afternoon. The fireplace rooms are so romantic. And the price is very reasonable. They could charge twice the amount, because you are getting a luxury room at a luxurious inn, for a mid-level price. And best of all, the inn is right next to the Park & battlefield, just 3 minutes from GNMP Visitor Center and 5 mins from downtown. So, for ALL of these reasons, the BALADERRY INN is the my ABSOLUTE FIRST CHOICE out of the roughly 30 places I would be happy staying at, in Gettysburg. I have wanted to write this review for a long time, because Judy & Kenny deserve it. They have put so much effort into their Baladerry Inn, and it shows. Thank you Judy & Kenny. This was our first time at at B&B and it was everything we hoped for. It was close to everything but far enough away that it was peaceful. The room was super clean and well decorated. Our breakfast every morning was very delightful.

My Wife and I stayed in the Shamrock room for our honeymoon and we are no strangers to the ton and the BnB scene in Gettysburg. We have styed in several and the Baladerry ranks at the top and is a place that we will absolutely be coming again. The room was comfortable and quaint and the owners clearly care about the customer and the experience and could not have been more warm, welcoming and accommodating. Great food and atmosphere and the small touches like available tea and coffee were excellent. The hot tub was clean and the night sky was a highlight of our evenings. We have already recommended the Baladerry t family and friends and they have the sweetest cat =0)

The innkeepers are very nice and accommodating. We stayed for one night and were booked in the "old" house; however, the room was very cold and the fan loud. The thermostat, as I found out, was not connected to anything. The rooms are all on central air, so adjusting any one room is impossible. Judy moved us to the newer house, but we experienced more HVAC problems, the balance between bedroom and bath was not optimized. I eventually used towels to block the air in the bath, improving the temp, but still not ideal. Also, Judy was great about getting me tourist information that I requested. Breakfast was OK. This inn did not measure up to others we've stayed in. We recently stayed in Charlottesville for several nights, and the inn there was a 5/5, so part of this review becomes a comparative analysis.

Amazing breakfast and friendly owners. The history of the B&B was unexpected, but the accommodation was spacious and comfy. Being on the edge of the battle fields meant a drive through history every time we ventured out.
