Wonderful hotel with a great view over the inlet and out to the Bay of Biscay. Staff were friendly. Good breakfast selection. However evening service at the bar in the evening and lack of thoroughness of cleaning suck loads of blonde hairs from the maid service on the floor, means the floor wasn’t being cleaned, let the hotel down. Bar food menu was limited and food was quite greasy and a lot of deep fried options (something with more fresh vegetables would be good). Would stay here again and would recommend this spot as Getxo is a wonderful respite from the built up aspect of Central Bilbao. Near to Neguri metro station which costs under €2.50 per person to travel (one way) to Mayua (Guggenheim) station.

Probably one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at! The view was insane. The food was great, the service was excellent. Pool was very nice and also had a great view of the harbor. We really loved it here!

Wow, brand new super modern luxury hotel. Excellent service from the minute you arrive. Stylish and large bedroom room with huge comfortable bed. Incredible views of the bay from the Terrace and pool. Croquet was fun. Decent parking and secure garage, with ramp ok for low cars (eg Ferrari / Lamborghini etc) Short walk to metro to central bilbao, or to Getxo old port for Pintxos.

A stunning stylish hotel, and one of the leading hotels of the world. It’s highly recommended and an amazing building with very little to criticise. However a meal in the bar ingles was both expensive and disappointing. If you get room 206 beware of the dodgy toilet door that at first is amusing then quickly becomes frustrating. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the glass elevator is something to behold especially when you consider how it’s fitting into an old building.

This place is a hidden gem. It is luxurious but not overstated, efficient but friendly, sociable but private. The staff members are all very personable and well trained. Overall, it is like staying in a (wealthy) European friend’s villa—without ever having to talk to them lol. A car is very helpful, but not required, to cruise into Bilbao or get to the wonderful Gexco beaches. If you are American and like to play backyard croquet, you might read up on the International rules to play on their court.

Wonderful experience, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, great breakfast. Rooms a little tight, although nice design. Some issues with the aircon not keeping up with the heating summer.

This place is an absolute gem. The hotel staff are incredible. The views from the terrace are magical. Close to metro, very easy to get around. We were also provided free tickets to the Guggenheim which was a real treat. We cannot wait to plan our next trip back.

Excellent experience from arrival to departure. Loved the location and venue. A special place. Not often you get to stay in a palace. The artwork was impressive. Service spot on. We will come again. The causeway walk in the morning and evening delightful. And a croquet court !

Stunning property. Beautifully designed and renovated. Unfortunately the level of detail that they gave to the building has not extended to the service provided. Mostly unattentive staff, however, it seems to be that it is ingrained culturally because it is more than just an isolated incident, it’s part of the overall experience at the hotel. There is no feeling of luxury apart from the building itself, no experience beyond the beauty of the Palace. Pool service was almost inexistent, terrace service very deficient. They seem to be very reliant on events and not very much into providing guests with an ultimate enjoyment in Getxo.
