We went for our Honeymoon and were treated to a fantastic stay! The hotel is quirky, with so much lovely traditional Sicilian decor/ornaments, it has a great position tucked away nicely but a very short walk from the beautiful harbour area which includes stunning views of Mount Etna. Fantastic view over the bay from the seaview rooms. Staff couldn't do enough for us, even keeping some food back for us after we arrived at 10pm on the Sunday. Food was great all week. Highly recommeded, especially for those seeking a quiet and relaxed getaway. Thank you Arathena!

We spent a very relaxing week at the Arathena Rocks Hotel. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the food was good and the place was spotless. The location is on the edge of this busy little tourist town, which has lots of places to eat and lots of opportunities for day trips. Taormina is a short bus ride away; we visited twice.

An extremely kind, friendly, professional staff, which is true for everyone. Manuela who is the best chief receptionist ever, Alexandro the corteous, smiling, handsome waiter, barkeeper, restaurant chief, Giuseppe who guarantees a great,fresh enjoyable breakfast service etc. Impossible to name everyone. Thank you Arathena staff for giving the best summer experience each year.

Supposed to be quiet and peaceful, but the noisy kids and noisy Italian couples ruined that. Last-minute discounts attracted not so agreable noisy tourists, unfamiliar with keeping a quieter and calmer amtosphere so that everyone can relax and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. Average breakfast and lunch. Rated a 4-star hotel, the quality and the variety of the menu are 3-star quality at most. You need to wait in line for coffee or water (from 1 plastic bottle at a time). One morning, at breakfast, I found 2 dirty coffee cups, for serving, which I returned to the stuff. No laundry service, not even an iron. Room mini-bar is empty, no possibility of making tea or coffee in the room. Wanted to take a nap in the afternoon, but the cleaning ladies made noise next to my room, where they kept their things. Dinner is a 4-course & desert meal of 18 eur, too much and not able to select both meal and price. Would I return? Not sure.

This is a quirky little hotel which offers a good experience if you take it for what it is. It is not outdated, just eccletic, and maybe not to everyone's taste, but if you like peace and quiet on the edge of the sea (and who doesn't?!) then this place delivers. The rooms are reasonably spacious, the bathrooms are modern and everything is very clean and well kept. Our sea view room had a beautiful outlook and we loved waking up to the sound of the waves lapping against the rocks. The service at reception was very good, we didn't eat at the restaurant other than breakfast which was good enough, nothing to write home about but sufficient choice to please most people. The location is a little out of the way but you can't have both peace and quiet and be in the centre of a bustling resort, so it's great if you don't mind a walk. The views of Taormina, Castelmola and Etna from all around this resort are stunning. Overall a lovely hotel with a homely vibe.

Excellent choice for Couples, Friends or Family. Service from Staff was friendly and helpful, room large comfortable with modern bathrooms, sea view balcony beautiful, Food for Lunch very good (did not eat dinner), Good Choice for breakfast. Lovely gardens and pool area overlooking rocky coast with steps into sea. The Hotel is full of charm and hustoric character with what looks like recently refurbished rooms so Excellent combination. Location - 10 minutes to main beach area with bars and restaurants a plenty, far enough for peace but close enough for a short stroll

A little gem of a hotel. At the end of a very quiet lane on the edge of the sea. 300m from good restaurants and 500m from the resort centre. Entering the hotel is like a small French Chateau or Stately home. Beautiful areas. Loved it!! Our room was sea facing and recently upgraded with modern decor. Large room and bathroom and well stocked with toiletries. Fantastic views. Breakfast was plentiful, set overlooking the pool and sea. We went bed and breakfast but did have 6 dinners in the hotel. 4 courses for €18 was excellent value!! Wines were reasonably priced as well. The pool area and gardens are beautifully kept. The sea water pool was warm. The staff at the hotel from reception to housekeeping to restaurant were fantastic. Very helpful. Plenty to do in the area with Mt Etna and Toamino close by. Suggest getting the Hop on and Off bus. We can not fault the area or the hotel.

The hotel reception staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. They provided all the information about the local area and transport links as well as booking our tours which made our stay pleasant and enjoyable. Our room was lovely and clean it also had a balcony overlooking the pool area and the unique view of the rocks into the sea. The only shortcomings was the rooms didn't have a kettle or ironing equipment, but however had a fridge. We would highly recommend "Arathena Rocks Hotel for a good relaxing holiday base for couples and families.
