Sunshine Lodge Inn

Stayed here for a few nights. Comfortable beds & pillows, big rooms with kitchenette. Staff is courteous & approachable. Ask for rooms far from the courtyard entrance because the door/gate bangs loudly & the rooms near it can feel the vibration on the wall.

This was one of the cutest Lodges I have been in. We were greeted by the man at the front desk who was super friendly and very helpful. Our room opened onto the quaint pool area that was very clean with new umbrellas and a grill. Our room, although dated, was very clean and had a flat screen tv. The beds were comfortable and very clean. We got up in the morning and the same man was at the front desk. He must either own it or run it. The Continental breakfast was enough to fill us up for our windy road to Earls Cove. I wish we had more time to hang out here!

Buyer beware ! Rooms are very worn down and dated . Duct tape on light switches or missing knobs on light switches . The rooms smell, our bathroom fan was so loud . Little to No maintenance has been done to the rooms. When you check in Please ask them to see your room before they make you pay up front !!!! Once you’re checked in they will not give you a refund ! The pool was green with algae . The walls are paper thin and you can hear every noise . This establishment would have been wonderful in its prime , unfortunately there has been a lack of care , which means lack of cleanliness.

I had booked one night at this establishment and was unfortunately unable to travel as my daughter came down with the flu in the early hours of the morning we were meant to travel there. I called to cancel the booking as soon as it was clear we would be unable to make it, but was asked for a doctor's note. I don't typically take my children to the doctor for something like this unless it last more than 24 hours. Now I know this can likely be understood from both sides, but the response ultimately was that I would be charged for the full night. I had called the establishment multiple times in the morning and nobody answered the phone. And when I called after I received this response the person whom I spoke with said that it's not her problem that my child is sick and it's my fault that she's had people calling with last minute cancellations etc. People don't plan emergencies, that's why these cancellations are last minute... I feel like that's kind of par for the course in this industry and that some understanding should be shown... Anyway, I did let the owner know that I was going to be reviewing this exchange, to which she responded she would leave me a review? The lack of empathy in a situation like this is one that I hadn't experienced yet. So now I am caring for a sick child, have disappointed kids/family for a missed trip, and am out $200 for a room we didn't get to use. Best of luck in your business; if the service I received is typical to your guests, you will certainly need it.

We had a great weekend stay here. We definitely hope to come back for a longer visit sometime. Great location near a bus stops, supermarket, and places to eat. Room was large for 2 people, good kitchenette for making our own meals, good bed, good WIFI. I liked the swimming pool, had a good dip in it before going out to dinner at the Blackfish Pub. Would be great on a hot day. I liked the decor and the little stone dragons in the garden. Staff were friendly too. All in all a big thumbs up from us!

Renovated room. Very spacious. Clean And good value for price. Pool looks nice but not Open yet. Good location. Would recommend. New hot plate that was heated by aluminum so frying pan we brought wouldnt work. Comfortabke bed
