The acreage is bordered by about 900 feet of Clear Creek. Clear Creek is about 20 feet wide . And you have a lovely view of the rushing trout stream. Sit on the covered porch and listen to the pileated woodpeckers, babbling stream, crickets, frogs and lake loons. Most visitors will spot deer taking advantage of the creek or a blue heron fishing for supper. When you’re ready to stretch your legs, lace up your hiking boots for a trek along the Tumbling Waters Trail, an easy 1-mile out-and-back hike that meanders through the forest in the Ridgeway Recreation Area at Carters Lake and across a wooden bridge to a series of waterfalls on Tails Creek. More adventurous souls may want to explore the Cohutta Wilderness Area, which boasts 13 trails totaling more than 87 miles of remote, often rugged hiking through the Cohutta Mountains, Georgia’s portion of the Smoky Mountain range.
