Stirk House Hotel

My partner and I stayed at Stirk House for two nights for a family wedding on Dec 23rd 2024. Our experience at this wonderful family run hotel was exceptional from the moment we arrived! The lovely lady who welcomed us at reception was so helpful we knew straight away we were in for a fabulous stay. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we had a mulled wine in the bar in the evening before retiring to our room on the first evening. Our bedroom was lovely with a sofa and a large screen television, we even watched a Christmas film prior to getting ready for the wedding. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent on both mornings with a good variety , cereal , fruit, pastries and the cooked breakfast was very tasty using local produce. The chefs even asked if we had enjoyed the wedding on the previous day! The lady who cleaned our room enquired as we were checking out if we had enjoyed our stay, such good customer service . The wedding itself was a fabulous celebration and we throughly enjoyed celebrating with my niece and her new husband . Stirk House was a magical experience that we both throughly enjoyed thank you so much for the warm welcome and the most wonderful of stays!

We have just returned from celebrating my sister’s 70th Birthday Afternoon Tea Party which was, as always, excellent. We had all the family together and enjoyed a very nice dinner at Seasons Restaurant in the evening to round off the day. Food, drink and service were all up to the excellent standard we have come to appreciate at Stirk. Everyone was delighted with their accommodation both in the main house and the Lodge. Can’t wait to visit again!!

Very nice room, great breakfast, wonderful, friendly staff. A beautiful view of the countryside outside my window. Was only there one night but would have been happy staying longer. Had dinner at the restaurant, was good veggie option, slightly expensive for what it was but tasty.

We always enjoy our stays at Stirk House. The staff are always friendly whether it be in the Bar, Restaurant, Reception or the staff who make up the rooms. All rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner are of the highest standard served by very friendly staff.

I had a lovely stay here, I really felt taken care of by the staff, they were really friendly. Cute decor around the hotel. In the room, the bed was really comfortable and there was a lot of natural light that came into the room and the curtains did well to block that out. The room I was in could have done with having sockets by the bed and maybe even just another one in the room. I’m vegan and was grateful for the vegan sausages available with the cooked breakfast and oat milk for tea/coffee/cereal. It’s a shame that the soup on the first night I got there was a tomato and red pepper soup that unfortunately wasn’t vegan as it had butter. The bar also had hot chocolate available but not one made with plant milk which was also a shame. All in all I would return and recommend to others.

Fabulous hotel in a great setting. Our room upgrade was greatly appreciated as we had so much space and felt quite pampered. All the staff we encountered - reception, dining room and bar were very welcoming. The restaurant is excellent too.
