La Dime de Giverny - Cottages

We very much enjoyed our comfortable and quiet overnight at La Dime. The half-timber complex has a shabby-chic feel about it, a romantic sense of previous prosperity remembered. I could see myself riding up to it on horseback in an historic 17th century movie drama. As it was, I parked right at the front a gate on a secluded lane. We didn’t take any meals. But the four of us did enjoy a bottle of champagne in the gazebo at the end of the deep green, expansive field of the grounds served by our very welcoming hostess. Several other comments suggest La Dime as a wedding venue. I can see that. The courtyard would make for a festive welcome. There is a large hall, grounds meant for white summer tents and enough rooms for a mid-size wedding party. It would be one to remember.

Despite the obvious antiquity of La Dime, the room was very comfortable with a huge clawfoot tub with plenty of hot water. Location was fantastic as it was a short walk to Monet's house and garden in Giverny. A very special place to stay and a wonderful place to celebrate a wedding with gorgeous grounds and gardens. Very romantic setting for couples.

Well-preserved and refurbished French countryside jewel. It is located in the center of the village with a short walking distance to picturesque restaurants and Monet house. The host was very nice and her dog Scott made us feel like we are staying at friends house. Our continental breakfast was very tasty with fresh local pastry and produce. The property will be perfect for a family gathering or countryside wedding. There is plenty of lovely space outside and in the main hall. I'd love to stay there again when if France.

La Dime is a wonderfully-converted farmstead with lovely grounds, very comfortable rooms, a friendly, responsive staff, and Scott, their playful terrier/greeter. You could not ask for a better location, just down a side street from the main street of Giverny and an easy stroll from Monet's garden and the restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed relaxing in their garden with its Koi pond and sprawling lawn. Breakfast was excellent. Just don't be dumb enough to drive off with the room key after checking out of the hotel, like I did. We mailed the key from our the Le Hotel Bayeux in Normandy when we got there and discovered my mistake. The people at both hotels were very helpful and accommodating. La Dime is an excellent choice for your stay in Giverny.

Beautiful property decorated to a high standard, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Beautiful garden and Frederique is a very helpful host. Very satisfying breakfast set us up for the day. Proximity to Monet’s house and garden was one of our main reasons for choosing this place.

The place is very charming and the owner, Laurent, couldn't be nicer. The location is perfect: walking distance to Monet's gardens. The spaces of the hotel, whose main construction dates from the 13th century, are generous, with a very pleasant and well-kept garden. We love it and recommend it!
