Off-RoadingYou can access the Gladwin ORV Trailhead from the property by riding on ORV roads. It's a 12 mile ride to the trails from our home. Simply head South on Bensch Rd., take a left on Boman Rd., and a right on Wildwood Rd. It is an all sports lake wonderful for fishing and swimming. A paddle boat for two as well as a single person kayak are included with your stay. The cabin is updated with new appliances, streaming devices for all tv’s and 100m high speed internet. There are enough sleeping areas to host family get togethers, bachelor/bachelorette parties or hunting/snowmobiles trips. There is also a gameroom which includes a pool table, shuffle board, darts, massage chair and more. Along with the many amenities we also provide all linens, towels, dish and silverware, tea, coffee and much more in order to make your stay as enjoyable and stress free as possible! The cabin itself is only a stones throw from the lake and within walking distance of Elk Lake Bar where you can enjoy a good meal, cold beer and friendly service! The cabin is also within a 15 minute drive of either downtown West Branch or Gladwin where you can enjoy some great restaurants and shopping. Theres a cozy loft for sleeping, and a sun room where you can relax and read all day long. 1/2mile away you have access to 100s of miles of trails for hiking and ATVs. Within a 45 minute drive you have Houghton Lake, smaller lakes, splash pads and casinos, something for the whole family.The space***Some of our comforters are goose down, if you are allergic to bird feather, please let us know and we will use our other comforters. Also there are peanuts, please let us know and we can remove these items.***This cottage can sleep 8 people comfortably. The loft is a private area located above the bedrooms and provides an additional 3 single beds for sleeping. A dedicated workspace is also located in the sunroom if you need to work! The fire pit offers an amazing view all day and night which creates a very romantic and private setting.We do not provide items such as charcoal, or firewood. If a previous guest leaves any of these items, we will leave them out for use but this is not something we provide. We do have a full kitchen as well as all of the cooking utensils needed for a simple BBQFor people looking for adventure, we are 45 minutes away from Houghton Lake for lake activities and ATV rentals. ATV rental is also available right around the corner. Also within 45 minutes is Whites Campground and Rifle River campground, both offering affordable kayak, canoe, and tube rentals to float down the river! Shuttle included. You have instant access to hundreds of miles of trails, and yard games in the shed outside as well as board games in the house! We hope you enjoy this super cozy cottage. Be sure to bring towels if you intend to visit the lakes as we only provide 1 towel per guest for cottage use.Other things to notePlease be respectful in remembering that this is a cottage! We run on a septic and well system, oils down the sink will ruin our septic, so we have jars under the sink for you to use. Also flushing anything other than the toilet paper provided (no ‘flushable wipes’, no tampons, etc) will clog and hurt our septic system. Sometimes well water has a scent! There is an additional Queen-sized air mattress with bedding also available if necessary and an oversized couch. There are many close lakes/rivers for kayaking and fishing close by. Full kitchen with new granite countertops and brand-new stainless steel appliances. Coffee pot with keurig included, as well as air fryer/toaster oven. Kitchen includes basic cookware set, utensils, cutting boards, and basic dinnerware.Off the kitchen is a two-person eating space, as well as a six-person kitchen table. This feeds into the living room, complete with a new couch that converts into an even larger couch, OR a two-person sleeper. The living room has a 58-inch 4K Roku Smart TV, complete with external plug-in ports; you can log in to your own streaming apps. To the right of the living room is a second family space, with wraparound couch to seat 5-6, as well as full view of the large TV. The first bedroom features a trundle bed with an additional twin bed. The sleeping area is adequate for three individuals to have their own sleeping area as well as a 48-inch Roku 4K Smart TV and dresser to store your items. The nightstand has 2 plugs for phones or tablets. The master bedroom also features the same nightstand, a queen-sized bed with two dresser drawers, and a linen closet and attached master bathroom with shower. The bonus perk in this bathroom is a washer/dryer, which can be cordoned off with the door so others sleeping aren’t bothered. The entire cottage walks out to a Florida room of windows that overlooks what will soon again be Wixom Lake canal. The back room includes a two-seat futon, coffee table and complete outdoor set for four. Finally, the room walks out to the backyard fire pit with four Adirondack chairs. We have a full size corn hole game set to use as well. The yard is large enough for games and there is a park across the street to throw a football.
