Checked in with our son for part of his birthday weekend. We have plans in the morning so had a reasonably early night (or tried) We were unable to get any sleep due to a busker outside our bedroom window with an amplifier, guitar and microphone. Come 10:15pm, members of the public were taking their turn to have their go of karaoke. The volume was ramped up about 11pm where I visited reception. I was told as this was outside the hotel there was nothing they could do, and there was no rooms they could move us to. The manager advised he could request the police ask him to move. The police were walking past all night and done nothing. This went on until 12:15am. Surely if there are complaints (and I can see others on here) management should be able to do something about this? Or the police with the level of noise! After falling over about 12:45am we were again woken, this time in a state of panic at 2am thinking someone was in our room. It was, infact the cupboard door (or at least we thought it was a cupboard) but was actually a conjoining door to the bedroom next door where a drunk party had arrived home, with no consideration for anyone. You can hear them word for word and are basically sharing a room with them it’s so noisy. Come 4am we are woken AGAIN by banging on the door. Again, this was the room next door having their main door hammered but as it was conjoining we heard it from both the hallway AND the joining door. I stuck my head into the corridor to find a man only in his boxers trying to gain access. I suggested he maybe visits reception for a key instead of disturbing everyone else! Also paid for the premium WiFi and it’s stopped a working after 4 hours We have now had ZERO sleep and paid £140 for the privilege, and it’s going to ruin our birthday plans in the morning due to us all having no sleep. I will never return to this hotel between this and the poor experience the last visit.
