Quality Inn & Suites - Glen Rose

A group of friends and myself were on a golf outing. We decided to stay at Quality Inn & Suites. We all had a pleasant experience. Mike at the front desk was very nice and always greeted us as we came back from golfing in the evening. The rooms were very quiet and clean. The breakfast in the morning was more than adequate and the hostess always asked if we wanted more to eat and would walk around and give us more coffee. I would without a doubt, stay there again.

Pros: The room was clean. The staff was friendly. Cons: The entire hotel needs updating. The light over the mirror in our bathroom did not work, leaving only one low wattage light in the bathroom. Walking into our bathroom was like walking into a cave. We told the front desk attendant. She was nice but did nothing about it. The breakfast attendant was really nice, but the food was horrible. In the warmers were scrambled eggs and sausage patties and something that looked like overcooked pizza rolls and taquitos. We did not check out the fitness area or pool. My conclusion: They are understaffed like many other places currently. They are working hard to keep the business going.

Wanted to see the sights of Glen Rose, TX. Clean bed linens, towels, bathroom and carpet. Dusty valance and top of headboard. Super helpful morning front desk during breakfast. The only thing I didn't like was only one way in or out and long walk to our room, but that's trivial. Great stay overall!!! Friendly staff!!!

My family and I stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites in Glen Rose, Tx., on 3-4 Dec. 2022. We choose that site based on the higher rating they received over another site and drove the extra 20 miles, due primarily, to the rating. We were phoned the evening of our scheduled stay around 6pm to verify if we were still needing the 2 room reservation and asked if they could run our credit card, to which I agreed. This struck me somewhat as odd, as this had not happened to us before. Though we were very cordially greeted upon our entry, things began to go down hill from there. Upon entry into one of the rooms, there was vomit inside the door entry way and the room had a funny odor. My son went to the front desk and reported this issue. Prior to this he also entered our room and noted the bed spread was not done well and there were many soiled spots on one of the comforters, and the room also had a peculiar odor. I was initially not too concerned as it was late and we were tired. My son was provided a new room and then contacted me later to tell me he had also found “skittles” laying in the corner of his new room. He also noted the grout/tiles/caulk in the shower were blackened, in this new room. He had then considered our leaving but we had already unpacked. However, it was to late to leave. My daughter-in-law went to the front desk where a shift exchange was taking place and she overheard some very startling information. She told me this the next morning. Apparently, she heard that the local police were using this hotel to drop-off drug abusers who were detoxing. The staff also mentioned some rooms that were not rentable, namely 105 and 115, and another few that had various issues. Next morning, I alone went to get coffee. The lady taking care of the breakfast area revealed to me that a few of the 8-10 guests staying in the hotel appeared to her to be paranoid (as if they were being watched coming and going inside and outside to work on a disabled semi-truck). She was also exasperated that they had eaten most of the eggs and sausages (her comment) and she had to make more than usual. She also only set out one canister of coffee, in the lobby area, and none in the breakfast area, which I thought was odd. When we departed the next morning we were discussing these and a few other issues when the question of “skittles” came up again, as my son had searched the internet and noted that “fentanyl“, disguised as candy, is very common. These new revelations and the other issues now totally angered me. We had two children with us, an 11 year old and a 1 month old baby, in those rooms. I have to say I find these issues totally unacceptable. I am usually asked to provide a rating, I was not asked by the hotel to provide a rating, I can understand why not now. I am bringing them up, outside the regular rating system, so that ChoiceHotel management may be aware of what is happening in this hotel.
