Residence Inn Denver Cherry Creek

Location is good close to downtown and lot of eating options close by, but comes with lot of added fees to the base room rate . Rooms are smaller compare to other residence inn. I am intrigued that generally prices have gone up and perks have gone down to zero. Don’t even get a bottle of water. Not sure why that is. check in was dry as the person checking in didn’t provide helpful information or recognize the status. Breakfast was good

Overall, an unpleasant experience. The room was close to the road and extremely loud making it difficult for us to get any sleep. The Chromecast on the TV did not work, and when we inquired at the front desk about it, the staff was either uninterested, unaware, or downright rude about it. The parking spots are so narrow that our SUV hardly fit. Other cars had the same issue. We found ourselves parked next to someone who had parked too close to the line. We ended up having to crawl in to the car from the back to get into the driver seat to pull out of the spot. One night when we came back to the hotel, we had to circle the building for about 20 minutes until somebody left so that we could park. With so many other options in the neighborhood, I would never stay here again.

The hotel is great. The location is terrific. The rooms is great. The reason for my low rating is that despite telling the clerk at check-in that we did not have a bar, a $12.00 charge for parking appeared on my credit card statement anyway. If I had not been diligent about checking my statement, I would not have known this.

There are advantages and drawbacks to this hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was very good and the food was superior to the Hilton chains. I liked that they didn’t use disposable service items. The coffee was surprisingly good and better than Hilton. I would have liked more fresh fruit options. The location is good near some lovely walking trails. Our room faced a busy street. The main reason for downgrading my rating is the poor service from the front desk. We asked several times to move rooms due to street noise. We were willing to take a different type and price room but the desk staff refused to even explore options. More minor issues were that the room did not have a safe for valuables and the flooring felt very cheap. The bathroom mirror was damaged and needs replacement.

A few caveats: 1) we were at the hotel for less than 24 hours 2) our latest hotel stays have been at very basic best westerns 3)room was paid for by our daughter’s Marriott points. We thought this was a lovely hotel. Convenient Denver location (and away from the drama of downtown); nice to have real China mugs and glassware in the room. Nice options at breakfast including NON DAIRY MILK OPTIONS!! Yay!!! Wish there had been ceramic mugs, though. Comfy bed. Mid-grade towels. Good quality AC & fan. I could hear the people above us (at midnight) but if I had the fan on “non-stop” that might have helped. Not a fan of vinyl couches but I understand why that might be a good choice in this style of hotel. Pool was nice; hot tub could be warmer but still nice after a long day.

Our experience at this hotel was far from ideal. I showed up around 6pm alone with my toddler and 7 months pregnant. It took me 1.5 hours to get checked in. My husband had made the reservation with points and when I arrived I was told he needed to call Marriott to add me to the reservation. We called and waited on hold and then the call center rep disconnected the call. So we called back and the next person told us that the hotel needed to add us to the reservation. They called the hotel directly and after some back and forth the hotel reluctantly added me to the room. I have stayed under my husbands points at other Marriott hotels without this problem. The person behind the desk told me they have been experiencing a lot of fraud and that’s why they had the policy in place. After we got checked in I could not find parking and had to park two blocks away. Then when we finally got to our room at 7:30 our TVs both would not connect to the internet. I had promised my kiddo a movie and dinner so we went back down to ask the front desk about the problem with the TV. They sent up engineering but he would not figure out the problem so we ended up watching the movie on my phone since there was no kids shows available on cable. We were in the top floor and had no problems with noise and the hotel was clean.

Until my check-out experience, this review would have been excellent. My husband and I flew in to meet our son, who lives in Denver, and daughter and family, who were coming to go skiing. We took the train from the airport to Union Station and walked to our hotel downtown. From there, our son provided our transportation. When he had to go back to work, our daughter and family, who rented a car, provided it. They arrived two days later and stayed at The Residence Inn. The clerk SMB at check-out, did not listen to me properly when I explained that we should not have a daily parking fee. She made me feel like I was trying to swindle them, which was very insulting. Although the parking fees were credited, she literally following me out the door and challenged our saying we had no car. We were getting into our daughter's rental vehicle!!!! The hotel itself, and the nice man working later in the days at the front desk was great. One small thing was a ring towel holder that needed fastening, but other than that, the suite was very clean and exceptional. The location is great, it felt safe and is near places to walk to. Please explain to SMB if people could afford to stay in the area, they are not going to be so petty to lie about $24.00. Thank You!!!

Lifetime Platinum BonVoy member here. Friendly staff but service not up to par; we ran out of body wash and Front desk did nothing; I had to hound housekeeper. Pool water not warm enough, whirlpool broken. Rooms had broken things. Great location though. All clean and OK breakfast.

Kenneth and Reggie at the front desk were amazing! They were extremely kind and helpful! Definitely coming back! We needed to make changes to the reservation and they did everything to help us out with absolutely no hustle.
