Eccles Hotel and Spa

Top-notch food, gorgeous spa experience Immensely enjoyed a lovely one-night stay. Spa experience with Aoife was amazing, from the massage therapy to the outdoor jacuzzi/sauna/cold bath area. Late dinner in the restaurant was excellent - we were extremely well looked after service-wise and the food was top class.

Never again. Unfriendly reception , I did not like the atmosphere of this hotel from the moment I entered. No guidance from reception , no mention of facilities in the hotel while checking in , no smiles or basic hospitality from any staff except the bar manager. Wine at 10 euro a glass was bitter and off, glass on the floor at breakfast and again an unfriendly hostess. Nearly slipped in the toilets at breakfast time no wet floor sign either on a freshly moped floor : / The muffins with the eggs benedict were stale, room was tiny and temp uncomfortable hot to cold all night. Voya products and soft robes only thing i enjoyed. Honestly worst hotel i have ever stayed in. I would never recommend, caseys or even the new hostel in glengarriff is a better option. We literally ran out of this hotel. Should never ever be a 4 star the montenotte or the brehon in killarney are much superior.

We had a fantastic break in the Eccles hotel. The staff are so friendly and kind., particularly Siobhan, Kellie and Clara..The food was sublime. Hotel spotless. Really enjoyed our stay

As part of the spa package we had the misfortune of going for lunch. Words fail us except to say food was inedible, extremely poor quality ingredients, the 'prawns' were of no taste what so ever and please avoid the broth !! The food served was an insult. The spa was superb though.

We were looking for a night away, just to relax and catch up. Used an offer from Rory's Travel Club to stay at Eccles. Lovely room with a great view over the bay. Comfortable beds. Nice shower, but very limited products, only one small shower gel for a twin room! The products were lovely. Other thing was the position or size of the wash basin, felt we were squeezing past it all the time - it was very big and quite close to the door. But overall a lovely room. The staff were just lovely. We wanted something to eat, found the cafe-bar and were waiting to catch the eye of the lady behind the bar, when someone else came over to us and when he heard we wanted lunch, explained it wasn't served there and walked us to the dining room - just a nice touch. Lunch was very nice and relaxed and we took a drink out onto the deck afterwards and sat there for ages. it felt like nothing was too much trouble when we asked. We had dinner that evening and it was very good. Asked about the beef as I don't like to see any pink in my meat and ordered it once we'd agreed on that - and it came out perfect and was lovely. Friend wasn't quite as lucky and ordered steak to be well done, but not burnt - but it was medium-rare. We explained that and it was immediately taken away with apologies and a fresh steak cooked - in some ways to her horror as she'd eaten a few bits and felt she'd never manage another full one - but it was so delicious that she did. By now the waiter from lunch time remembered us and our coffee preferences - which did make us feel special! After dinner brandy in the bar and it was really nice and relaxed there. Good night's sleep. Room slightly warmer than we'd have liked, but it was middle of June. Breakfast was really good. Mix of buffet and cooked options. All really good. Checkin and checkout were both friendly and easy. Highly recommend a stay here - just good old fashioned hospitality.

Lovely stay at Eccles Hotel Glengarriff, comfortable room, great location. The breakfast really stood out, delicious and the breakfast staff were lovely especially Sheila, very helpful, we had a great laugh with her!!
