Best Western Balgeddie House Hotel

I chose this hotel for my 9yo daughter and I, as the surroundings looked lovely and it had a swimming pool too. Im just about to start long term hospital treatments and I wanted a nice little hotel for some mummy/daughter time, so we could relax and have fun at the same time. This place was perfect. Its a gorgeous manor house with beautiful grounds. We stayed for dinner and breakfast and the food was lovely. We both had the Continental Breakfast and it was so good, lots of choice and all nice and fresh. Our room was lovely too, nice MASSIVE bed which was soo comfy. There was a TV and a kettle with tea/coffee & biscuits. We had an amazing few of the gardens frim our window and delighted to see some deer first thing in the morning. The staff could not of done more for you. Always greeted with a smile and so helpful & poleit aswell. The swimming was fab, a nice warm pool with sauna/steam room. Great shower & changing facilities too. It was nice to see what looked like local fitness coming here for their classes too. My daughter has already asked if we can come back and I cant wait. Hooefully next year once treatment is finished...we might even bring dad along too. Thankyou so much as it was just what we needed! Keep up the great work.

Had lunch here with a friend, I had the steak pie and as well as being delicious it had a pastry bottom!. The meat was tender and the best I've had in a long time. My friend had the Chicken burger and would recommend it. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's dog friendly too! Will be back soon. Thank you.

This is a tired looking Best Western hotel and needs a serious update to its bedrooms and bathrooms. The hotel I'd say is average at best, however, staff are wonderful here and that goes some way to me giving 4/5. Rooms are old fashioned, carpets are thread bare on stairs (2nd floor), and avoid room 210 until they resolve the noisy kitchen extractor right outside the room if you are a light sleeper. I asked to be moved to a much quieter room on the top floor which reception staff handled professionally and sympathetically. I dined in the main restaurant for evening meals and breakfasts in the mornings. Evening meals are fine but nothing worthy of note and cooked breakfasts are off a menu selection but you don't have to wait long to get served. The pool is excellent, very clean. Changing rooms are dated and who has pound coins for lockers these days?!

We booked the room approximately 6 hours before we arrived. The room was not clean. There were lots of black hairs on all o the pillows and sheets. There were bugs on the carpet. The room smelt musty and did not smell great! We really did not feel comfortable staying in the hotel and advised the receptionist who sent the duty manager. He viewed the room and apologised. We shared we were not comfortable staying at the hotel and would like a refund so we could move to another hotel. He checked with the general manager, Tiago, who refused this request, saying they would not refund. We feel this was incredibly unfair, not at all empathic and not customer centric. We left and checked into the nearby Holiday Inn Express. Very disappointing all round :(

Upon arrival to the room the wall paper was peeling off, the room did not smell clean. The bed had hair all over it and there were live bugs on the floor. We asked for a refund as we did not want to stay in the dirty room yet we were refused. So we moved to the holiday inn with no refund.

This was our second stay at this hotel. On this occasion our room was in the original part of hotel which I particularly enjoyed. Excellent shower, not always mentioned but on this occasion warranted. Our room was spacious, bed huge, pillows not so big. Dinner really tasty but breakfast less so ( not sure that I enjoyed having to pay for breakfast, obviously B & B doesn't apply, if all you wanted was cereal and toast it was pricey. Bar excellent, bar staff really friendly but adjoining bar lounge looked more like a store room for left over tables and chairs, pity. All said and done I would stay in this hotel again.

The Hotel is nice and my room was your basic hotel room, clean and warm. The reception staff are very efficient and knowledgeable and said they would upgrade my room for me. (Having said that, I don't know what the difference was from a Standard room booked to that of an upgrade) Although my rooms explanation didn't state a room with a view so I wasn't expecting anything fabulous, it was of the swimming pool and a part of the garden so not too bad. I did use the pool however (don't forget to sign the disclaimer) again clean and warm, I had it to myself for a bout 15 minutes. The evening meals, again standard Best Western cuisine but palatable. The usual menu for breakfast also. Needs better signposting from the A92 but ample car parking.

stayed here as a family late sep - for 5 nights in a large family room. We were overwhelmed by the friendliness of the entire staff, the excellent scottish breakfast, the food in the restaurant - and the amazing 17 mtr heated indoor pool. The facilities surrounding the pool was also over the top - including a steam bath, a large sauna and great changing facilities. Traveling with kids - this was nothing less than an ideal location and combo of facilities. It also makes a nice base for exploring Edinburg, St. Andrews and all of the other attractions in the area. To sum it up - a manor style hotel with very nice interiors, an amazing indoor pool area, lovely grounds and running paths surrounding it. We are already longing to go back to the place…!!!

stayed while on business. Entrance slightly confusing as its hidden behind a hedge. rooms were nice & clean, gym well equip with modern equipment & food in the resturant tasted good. the burger i had did look very sad though haha. Bed nice & comfy with a good night's sleep. Breakfast was also good. Overall, great stay.
