Had a fabulous 2 night break away and stayed in one of the Valley View Rooms. It's the first time we've stayed here and certainly won't be the last. The room was amazing with a very comfy bed & so much space! The food was out of this world. Ate in the restaurant the first night and then in the bar on the second. The quality of the food was top notch! ALL the staff were extremely friendly, attentive, informative about the area and we noticed that nothing was too much of a problem for them. Fabulous place to stay and can't wait to return!

Called into the bar after a walk to mallyan spout. The lady who served us a well deserved pint of Mallyan larger was lovely (didn’t catch her name though) we liked it so much that we decided to stay the night the bar maid went and found out if there was a room available for us which luckily there was. We had sandwiches for lunch (prawn and coronation chicken) and a pot of chips which were lovely. The room we stayed in was called a compact double, the room was clean, bed comfy and the products provided were nice. We sat by a wood burning fire in the evening, drank wine and enjoyed a cheese board. Breakfast was lovely, service was a little slow which we didn’t mind as it looked like Jodie and Sarah were running breakfast and checkouts. Both Sarah and Jodie were polite, officiant and helpful We will definitely stay again maybe a pre planned visit next time

We stayed at The Mallyan Spout Hotel in January and loved it so much that we booked again in February, staying one night on both occasions. On arrival, we were greeted in a friendly manner, being made most welcome. After eating a lovely meal in the bar area, we had drinks in front of a very comfortable log burner. Our room was both spacious and beautifully furnished. The bed was luxurious and soft. The views from the windows were a delight. After an excellent breakfast in the restaurant prepared by Chef Gary, we were set up for the rest of our day around Goathland, Whitby and York. "We'll be back".

We had afternoon tea last Friday as a Christmas present from a friend. It was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. There was so much a takeaway box was provided so we enjoyed some of it the following day. The surroundings were very warm and comfortable. Thankyou all.

Not stayed here for a while but it was great to return again. This continues to be a great family run hotel which once again was very busy. This is a wonderful location and the food continues to be one of the highlights of the stay. This was a busy trip around North Yorkshire and Humberside but some good hotels made the miles much easier

The hotel is under new management and they have made some refurbishments. The lounge areas have comfortable seating arrangements which are a big improvement since we last stayed. The Restaurant is bright and comfortable. Our room number 11 has recently been refurbished to a high standard. The bathroom contains a fantastic shower and large bath, quality fittings. The seating areas are comfortable with amazing views. The large comfortable bed led to a great nights sleep. The room is amazing and gave us a perfect relaxing stay. The dining experience for both breakfast and dinner was perfect, great menu options. The food cooked to perfection using quality ingredients. From arriving to leaving all of the staff have been welcoming and attentive. Special thanks to Jodie and Georgia for looking after us in the evening. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday, the flapjacks left in the room and the complimentary drink on the first evening were greatly appreciated, thank you. We have had a wonderful stay and looking forward to making a return visit soon. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this hotel.

Fabulous hotel. Lots of character. Lovely location. Room was great. Amazing views. Comfortable bed and bedding. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast great choice recommend full Yorkshire and Whitby kipper. Great bar too. Look forward to returning.

The most relaxing destination you could ask for in picture postcard surroundings. Super helpful staff and quality food which just creates the perfect atmosphere to relax and recharge. We've been going for 20 years or more and there is still nowhere like it.

Called in for a coffee and cakes. I have to say I was surprised at receiving what has to be the smallest slice of cake I have ever paid for. I did ask if it was a mistake but was told no that was the right size. I think next time I'll take my own, as about half the tables outside were full of people eating their own pack lunches, wished I'd thought of that I would have saved myself £29.00. The price was in keeping with the area but the portion control certainly was terrible.
