Pier Hotel

We called in as we always do when in the area, but what a disappointment this visit was. Toilets were dirty (never a good sign) as the saying goes “dirty toilets/dirty kitchen” Bar area was also dirty with uncleared tables and food on the floor-you can’t argue with the photos! Chairs ripped and torn, looks unloved and in need of a deep clean, lick of paint and a spruce up. We actually wondered if it had recently changed ownership? Such a shame as it used to be a lovely hotel😞

We have just spent 4 nights at the Pier Hotel and we couldn’t be more pleased it really is a wonderful place the staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble we had a room with a sea view and it was beautiful very clean and the bathroom was massive, we have eaten here every night the food is delicious and the breakfast is great so much choice. We will definitely be back perhaps later on in the year and we would also recommend it to friends and family

This hotel is in a beautiful area and the views from our room were amazing the staff were great the restaurant food perfect bar staff very knowledgeable and friendly I would definitely be this hotel to others and will definitely be staying there again myself

We only stayed for one night in room 106 but would stay again as it was a very comfortable stay. There are just a couple of issues that would’ve made it a perfect stay rather than a nice stay. The room was small but clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and warm. The bathroom had a smell of drains about it and we couldn’t get the TV to come on so some instructions for that would have been handy. We ate in the bar at lunch time – I had the veggie burger which was tasty but for the price you pay, I’d expect a bit more of a salad with it. My partner had the shepherds pie which looked amazing and home cooked. I had a wine and my partner had Doom bar on tap but they didn’t taste great – wine tasted cheap. Breakfast was ok but nothing special really – and slow to top up things like the bread and bowls of fruit. Would’ve preferred tinned tomatoes and button mushrooms rather than half a large portabella mushroom. The carpet on the stairs was a bit grubby and could’ve done with a vacuum but it wasn’t done in the time we were there. All of the staff were really nice and the position of the hotel right next to the beach can’t be any better.

Lovely stay, staff couldn’t do enough for me as a single disabled female, the hotel has lovely views from both sides , the rooms are spacious, very clean and have everything you could need , I was on the second floor but there was a lift, I stayed in a double room as a treat and I’m definitely going to go back again, as a vegan breakfast was lovely and the restaurant staff where fantastic and so helpful, there is a wonderful bar area and outside seating I was very lucky to have amazing weather so sat outside in the sun with my coffee ,

Just had another very successful stay in the Pier. As usual everything was perfect. Room excellent with sea view. Location, food and staff all very high standard. We would highly recommend and will obviously be coming again. John and Wendy
