Apartamentos Koala Garden THe Home Collection

I have just returned from the most amazing week with my family at the Koala Gardens. The hotel is one of the cleanest I have stayed in. The food is delicious with something for everyone. The animation team are all fabulous and go above and beyond to make sure all guests are enjoying themselves. The bar and restaurant staff are so friendly and welcoming. There is nothing I could fault about my stay and I would definitely return in the future. I have already recommended this hotel to family and friends.

Had a fabulous time. Apartment (solo traveller) 274..had requested rooms beside sister and husband, a bit concerned that there's was a 300 room number but assured was literally across a path and could see each other...all good! This was explained perfectly by the man on reception who could not have been more helpful, In fact any time we went to reception (once having left my card in room and the other to borrow scissors) the reception staff could not have been more helpful, smiling attentive and professional. Food at main restuarant - perfect, LOTS of options (no idea what people complaining about....what meals do they eat when they are at home/elsewhere, there was always at least FOUR different options at lunch and dinner. (Also a microwave if for some reason you thought wasnt hot enough!) Selection at all meal times was fabulous, Plenty inside and outside seating. Joeys was good too, made a change of location and again it was stated it was Italian, so LOT of Italian offerings, all freshly cooked. (Again what are people expecting??) My room was cleaned every day, free safe, kettle tea coffee replenished, spotless. Bar staff in evening at pool bar/sports bar always smiling, snacks at poolside - ie nachos/peanuts and dishes of sweets for kids...a lot of nice touches. Entertainment team always about and amazing with kids (we didnt travel with any!) Location a bit out of way but would have to say it tells you that so no idea why people are surprised, there is a shuttle bus, a local bus stop and taxi (cheap) if you want to go to busier spots. I loved it, from the smiles from each staff member, whether cleaner, reception, bar staff etc to the layout of apartments and food etc....dont be put off by negative reviews, our experience was fabulous and we would return, although this was March and wasnt as busy as i would imagine high season would be...

I loved my holiday at Koala Garden, the hotel was amazing and I really liked the facilities. I really liked the breakfast because it was the most complete. What we liked the most was the entertainment, special mention to luke, sheila, claudia and kilian, we played a lot in the activities and the nights were very entertaining. The hotel staff were very friendly from reception to the cleaning staff.

Well, where to start reception staff that do not understand the words Ground/Low Floor. In fact, what I have seen in the first 30 minutes of being here is that the male reception staff member on duty lacks even basic skills to do his job . He was sending guests to unserviced/dirty rooms. Rooms that are the wrong type, i.e., not ground floor. We booked a low floor room but the staff member does not understand basic English and if I were his manager I would be arranging for him to be sacked. Maybe a trip to specsavers so he could get his eye tested would him someone with a walking stick surely has a mobility issue. Having over 40 years of industry experience, I have found that this hotel will be facing seriously damming reviews, and it is not a 4-star hotel. Maybe 1 star at the most. To the general manager, please try a different find me while I am staying. Maybe a fresh pair of eyes will highlight the incompetence for your staff. Having to ask for 3 room moves in 30 minutes is grossly incompetent on behalf of the reservation and reception staff, and both managers should be sacked along with the male reception staff member on duty at 1600 13 March 2025. On the second morning we woke up to.the room flooded due to an air conditioning fault and again in the evening the room was.flooded again and housekeeping and maintenence attended the room and sorted.the fault our and according to the maintenence team member we were the 3rd.room he had sorted.out that shift. The Joey Restaurant IS NOT La Carte but a smaller buffet restaurant with tablecloths! Food is of a buffet and on a buffet style.service. The food is varied and well prepared.in the main restaurant and has a good choice, however, the allergy labelling seems to be hit and miss depending on the chefs The buffet restaurant, housekeeping, maintenance, entertainment, and groundss team are the only ones worth employing. Has for the Management Team, I would suggest that they all look for new employment and NOT in the hospitality industry! To pun a phase, they could not organise a booze up in a brewery between them, and the Livvo Head Office need to investigate the hotel operation and make changes ASAP!

We have not long returned from a week at Koala Gardens and loved our stay. We paid just over £1000 for 2 adults and a 10 month old baby, all inclusive which was a great price. The hotel is like a little village with different zones. We stayed in zone 2 with a balcony overlooking the entertainment stage and the park outside of the door to the room. I found the hotel really accessible with a pram (minus the stairs to the 1st floor room which we requested to keep our baby safe from wondering away, was expected so didn’t cause any issues). The room and hotel grounds are very clean. I did read reviews about cat poo which had me worried due to being pregnant but we never seen any throughout our stay. There are cats about but they seem to be at a lot of hotels throughout the Canary Islands and isn’t just an issue here. Although there are a lot of negative reviews about the location of the hotel, we didn’t have any issues getting the public buses which stopped a 5 minute walk away from the hotel and got us to many different areas in Gran Canaria for a small cost. Some of the places we went to were Aqualand, Palmitos Park, Playa Del Ingles and the Maspalomas Dunes. Buses ran to Puerto Rico and Puerto De Mogan too but we never went to these areas. The only big negative to our stay was the food which we personally didn’t find enjoyable, although Joey’s Restaurant was much better. We did spend most days out of the hotel and only really had breakfast and our evening meal here so it wasn’t the biggest issue for us. The children’s splash area and pool was freezing cold and not enjoyable for our baby at all which was disappointing as he loves the water. Another small issue was on one of the days I wanted to book a taxi at reception but there was a large queue of people checking in and only one person on the reception desk so we ended up just waiting outside for a taxi that was dropping people back off. Overall for the price, I do think this was a great holiday with clean facilities and would definitely recommend.

Great family hotel. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Beds a little firm for me but that is just personal taste. I am not sure why so many people complain about the food. There was always a good selection at all mealtimes. Ok, so buffet food is not always that hot but they do provide a microwave in the restaurant if you wnt red hot food. The hotel grounds and pools were immaculate and the cleaning and maintenance staff work tirelessly to keep it that way. They have a great selection of local drinks included in the AI package and the bar is open 12 hours a day. All the bar and waitressing staff were friendly and efficient. The Animation team were amazing. Our 2 year old granddaughter loved the end of day dance and had an amazing time in the splash park. We all had rooms in Zone 2 which can be a bit noisy but it all stops at 11pm so not really a problem. The location is a bit out of town but the hotel run a shuttle bus down to the beach in Maspalomas so not a problem. All in all this is a great family hotel and I would have no problem recommending it to other families. Thank you Livvo Koala Gardens for making our first holiday with our granddaughter so special!
