I am an avid traveller and have had many wonderful B&B and resort experiences around the world. The Shangri-La B&B on Grand Cayman takes the cake for best experience. I did days of research re the best spot to stay. I wanted to be off the main strip for a proper serene getaway, but still walking distance to it all- this was PERFECT. Tucked away on a quiet pond in West Bay, this backyard is the most serene spot. Pool, hot tub, bbq, hammock, outdoor dining table, gazebo/enclosed dining table and indoor dining. Cozy cabin-style living room for reading and relaxing. Full service kitchen available, complimentary breakfast bites, full day coffee, tea and water refills. Complimentary sun tan lotion, bug spray, books, beach chairs, coolers, water sport supplies, bicycles. There are so many lovely add ons here that you would not get at a major hotel/resort. Whole place is kept spotlessly clean and fresh. Other guests were all kind, quiet and courteous. Wifi works great. Free movie streaming in rooms. Most of all the STAFF! Rose and Althea are so warm and welcoming, really felt like I was staying with family. So many customized moments from them both. Especially as a solo traveler, this property and these people really made my whole week. The neighborhood: Small grocery store 10 mins away (walking) Massive Fosters grocery 20 mins away Two restaurants 10 mins away, which is also the most beautiful sunrise spot (Tukka West) Cemetary Beach/7 Mile is just beside Fosters My itinerary: Day 1- walk up 7 Mile and the whole west side of west bay, with an incredible lunch at Nova *also comes with use of their hotel pool and amenities! Day 2- walk up through Barkers Park and the east side of west bay, with the most insane AYCE Brunch at Pappagallo (Sundays only) Day 3- walk down 7 Mile, morning beach stroll before the massive crowds took over, lunch at Island Naturals Day 4- sunrise, lazy pool day, walked up 7 Mile to Macabuca for a perfect sunset and supper Day 5- took a bicycle out for a 7 Mile ride, stopped at Vivo for an insanely delicious lunch. Felt like I stepped onto the shores of Italy for a cute village bike and lunch Day 6- B&B day. Sunrise, local strolls, pool lounging, sat by the pond doing nothing but enjoying the wildlife and nature sounds, happy hour at Tukka West (the local) This property is perfectly centrally located while providing a emersion into local community and nature. If you're looking to experience Grand Cayman proper, I'd strongly reco staying here versus the main tourist strip. Rose will ensure you have the perfect stay
