Grande Cache Hotel

Everything was done just right. The reception when I walked in to book a room. The Lounge service. The room, especially the specialty coffee that was provided in the room. Breakfast was very good and the Service was A+. The view from the breakfast dining room is amazing.

The French owner only yelled at everyone and swore at everyone. Get the f out was his most used saying after co workers had an argument. Staff said he’s always arrogant and rude. What a waste of my money.

Cross country ski getaway to Grande Cache area and Switzer. Stayed at Grande Cache Hotel,where staff were very friendly and rooms were excellent. Johnny Canoe Rooms were of showroom quality ! Great place to stay!!

Arrive late on a Friday night. TripAdvisor said there were no rooms available in town. A phone call to one hotel gave me the same message. But as I had to stay in town that night I tried the GC Hotel. They had several room .choices. The lady at check-in was very helpful and friendly. The room was exceptionally huge (old hotel!). I immediately went to the restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately the touted prime rib was no longer available. As I live in the North I fully understand this all-too-common reality. So I ordered the steak which was delicious and cooked to perfection, which is not easy to do with a thin steak. Before I had dinner I asked the server how she was at mixing drinks. “Very good, “ she said. “Great, I’ll have an Old Fashion“ I said. A few minutes later she returned very apologetic, informing me they had neither bourbon nor sweet vermouth nor bitters. “OK, I will have a gin martini straight up with three olives.” to which she advised me that they didn’t have olives or dry vermouth. I should have looked behind the bar and seen that they had only about fifteen liquors. I was fooled by the fact that they called themselves a lounge. Such is life in the North! But both the bar server and the dinner waitress were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The wifi works great on the bar. I expect it will work well in my room. I have yet to try the TV. I
