The interior is colorful and beautiful. The common areas are incredibly cozy. From the terrace, you can see plants and wekas walking around, which was very lovely. The kitchen is spacious, the bathroom is clean, and there is a hairdryer. The owner is very kind and helped me with hiking in Greymouth.

Really lovely place to stay. Jasmin and Pat are super friendly and helpful and they keep it clean and looking beautiful. Lots of places to relax, and really beautiful decoration and African theme is a bonus. Will always stay here when in Greymouth.

Incredible Stay! We had an amazing time at this lovely place! It served as a perfect base for exploring the Paparoa Great Walk and Arthur’s Pass tracks. The entire region is stunning, with fantastic local breweries to enjoy. The amenities were excellent, and the kitchen was well-equipped, making our stay very comfortable. Our rooms were lovely and beautifully decorated, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights was definitely the hospitality from Patrick and Jacinda—they were the best hosts we encountered during our trip! They provided invaluable daily advice and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Thank you both for everything you did for us! We can’t wait to return on our next trip to New Zealand!

Really lovely place to stay, very cheap! The bathrooms and kitchen was so clean and the staff are really friendly! You can buy eggs and I’m pretty sure reception has a few keychain like items to buy. It’s not far from town you can either drive or take a walk, it’s pretty close to the Monteith’s brewery.

We booked this place for a one night stay with our children (3 and 6 years) as it was the best recommended available option in Greymouth. It was our daughter‘s 6th Birthday and we informed the Hostel via the booking on their Homepage. So far we were not aware that children under the age of 13 are not welcomed in this house. Fair enough but as we especially mentioned the very special day and we received a conformation, telling us that cancellations for bookings via their Homepage are only possible via their Homepage, it would have been of help being told that this place is not ment for little ones. Telling a 6 year old girl and her Little Brother, that they are not wanted, are not allowed to be visible and hearable directly was actually not the way we would have expected being informed of of a detail that can ne found in the FAQ. Such information should be more visible, this way it felt like beeing unwanted but our money is wanted never the less. The place itself is tidy (the tidies Backpackers we ever stayed at) and clean but full of rules and our 4-bed-Room was located under the corridor where we could hear every step from above.
