The Alpina Gstaad

Simply the most amazing property accompanied with wonderful service especially from spa and restaurant staff! Always great to return and relax at this magical place. All the staff were superb, breakfast even got better this time with some additions of healthy choices. Giovanni and Salvatore were always there to greet us and make the beginning of the day super special. All breakfast team are simply wonderful and they work very hard and we appreciate them being so helpful and positive at all times. Spa as always a pure oasis of relaxation and health. They keep it clean and organized and the treatments are surely best in class! Kudos to Kasya, spa manager, Elinor,Laura and all the team! We had great ride with Zoran from Geneve to Gstaad, he s a legend! Hvala puno Zorane Cant wait to return in summer!

From the moment you walk in til the moment you leave was a wonderful experience. It did rain two days out of the three we were there so we enjoyed all the hotel amenities. Gym, sauna, salt room, pool with a fabulous juice bar

I come to Gstaad several times a year, but this was my first time staying at the Alpina. As others will also describe it, the Alpina is the quieter, more spa focused palace hotel in the area, and while the bar and common areas may be lacking in atmosphere, the rooms are superior in their comfort and the spa is indeed excellent as are the swimming facilities. While no stay is perfect, the issues encountered were negligible at best. For instance, the hotel does not do laundry on Sundays, but no one told me this prior to taking my laundry order. I was then called two hours later and told the turnaround time would be minimum 48 hours and would be double the price. Annoying, as most five star hotels in this world can turn around laundry in a few hours versus a few days, but not something of any real consequence. The shuttle service ends at 11pm, which I wasn’t told prior and left us stranded at midnight to walk back up the hill in the rain. Not ideal. Another gripe was the exceedingly slow service at breakfast; I am all for leisurely dining, but when I order a simple coffee, I don’t expect it to take 30 minutes to bring to the table… the real issue was having only one waitress serving the entire restaurant. Her attitude was superior but everyone was running out of patience. I would also note for a hotel of this size, the gym is very small and was always crowded both morning and evening, not sure if there is room to expand, but it should be considered. Again, despite these very minor problems, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, as did my guests, this is a true five star hotel experience, and come winter, I would probably consider staying here again.

We were so happy to see our friend Luis Roza waiting to drive us to The Alpina Hotel. He is an amazing friendly person with greatly customer oriented. Upon check in we were told that room was ready as we advised hotel in advance on our arrival time. Also Fd mentioned that they were able to upgrade us but I had to emphasize that we actually paid for the upgrade and she quickly fixed herself 😊 We were escorted to the room but to our surprise when we entered the room there was no greeting card nor welcome amenities that we are used to. Anyway we got them later in the night after the turndown service. Freshly squeezed orange juice that is mostly appropriate for check in and not for sleeping. They changed the welcome cake this time to a lemon something not eatable. Room as always impeccable clean and comfortable. One of the best housekeeping service in the world. Mostly we enjoyed dinners in bar thanks to great service and drinks. Food on the other hand is plane, a lot to wish for. They should definitely bring an italian chef that understands and respects the Italian food. Just a recommendation to improve the food and bring some life to it and make The Alpina perfect. Breakfast area always amazing with AnaMaria,Salvatore,Gaia and Giovanni! The new Spa Manager Claire went above and beyond to make us feel amazing and she gave us a surprising 20 minutes sound healing treatment for family that was something super special and memorable. We ll even book it for our next stay. All spa team as always the best ever Raffaela, Laura, Svetlana, Kasya,Lucas and Amelie! All simply the best! See you for winter season!

One of the most beautiful places we have ever been. You just cannot believe your eyes when you open the doors to the view. It is so beautiful that you think it is a fake movie set. The staff is beyond exceptional. Extremely professional and very attentive. Restaurants and Spa are fantastic and all of the recommendation our Concierge team made were perfect. Sometimes, it takes a bit of cosmic alignment — a conference on nature and the future of humanity, a few well-pulled strings, and a large dose of serendipity — to find oneself checking in at The Alpina Gstaad, Switzerland’s answer to the question: “What if heaven had central heating and room service?” Now, let’s address the Swiss elephant in the room: is it expensive? Undoubtedly, yes. But so is a Stradivarius, and no one ever asked it to play for free. From the moment you arrive, the experience unfolds with a kind of understated grandeur that money can’t quite buy — though your wallet will certainly try. The welcome at reception is not so much a check-in as it is a gentle ushering into another realm, where the only thing more elevated than the altitude is the service. The rooms? Thoughtfully decorated with just the right mix of Alpine charm and international elegance — wood meets velvet, tradition flirts with technology — and the views… well, if you must stare wistfully into the void of existence, it might as well be a snow-kissed mountain valley. The breakfast spread deserves its own standing ovation. Served with the kind of grace usually reserved for royal banquets, it ranged from the virtuously healthy to the gloriously sinful, all of it delivered with a smile that made you wonder if the staff had just been told you’d won a small lottery. A complimentary shuttle? Yes. A spa? More accurately, a temple of indulgence. Saunas, steam rooms, chill pools (the kind where even your regrets feel refreshed), and not one but two swimming pools — one indoor, one outdoor — both with jacuzzis whispering, “You deserve this.” The restaurants were equally divine — you don’t dine at Alpina, you commune. Even my vegetarian soul found solace and sophistication on every plate. They say The Alpina is the most sought-after resort during ski season — and I believe them. But even off-season, it’s nothing short of a revelation. I had a fabulous stay, the kind that spoils you forever and teaches you how good life can be if you’re lucky, persistent, or well-networked. Here’s hoping the universe conspires once more and I find myself returning. If not, I shall simply say I once flirted with the divine — and it wore bathrobes from The Alpina Gstaad.
