I recently stayed at a hotel apartment that, at first glance, seemed promising with a full refrigerator, stove, and plenty of cabinet space. But here’s the catch: not a single piece of kitchenware was provided. No plates, cutlery, cups, glasses—absolutely nothing. You couldn’t even make an instant coffee if you wanted to. When I asked for the basics (a bottle opener, small knife, plate, fork, and spoon), the staff looked at me as if I was asking for something completely out of the ordinary. Apparently, these items aren’t part of the deal, which is surprising given the “apartment” setup.
Oddly enough, there’s a washing machine with detergent, and they do provide some typical hotel toiletries like a toothbrush. They also clean and refresh towels daily, though they don’t make the beds. It’s an unusual mix of services—somewhere between an apartment and a hotel, but not quite either.
There’s no front desk, but there is a contact person who was responsive via WeChat, albeit only around the premises sometimes. There’s also no restaurant on-site, meaning breakfast isn’t available, nor can you prepare your own with the lack of kitchen essentials.
Overall, this place was not very clean, decently maintained, but strangely lacking in the fundamental conveniences you’d expect from either a hotel or an apartment. It’s not inexpensive, and while it wasn’t a terrible experience, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
