Our stay at Echil hotel in Guangzhou was excellent. We had an issue during check-in that wasn't too pleasant. We arrived early to the hotel, approx. 7am and stored our luggage. We were informed to come back by 2PM to check-in to our room. Unfortunately, upon our return, our room was still not ready and we were asked to simply wait. By this time, we traveled and had not slept in 40 hours and had walked with heavy backpacks on the streets for 6+ hours to be told our room was not ready. This was due to a previous guest extending a late check-out but we were never informed prior. After passing this frustrating experience, the rest of the trip went well. It is a prime location, very close to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, Pearl River and a lot of delicious food! The hotel front is quite crowded and busy making it slightly difficult when trying to hail a Didi. Breakfast at the hotel was just OK. I would stay here again for location.

This hotel about 400 to 500 meter away from the famous Beijing Road. Clean and comfy hotel, they even provide like 4 bottles of water for us daily. Overall a pleasant stay in guangzhou.

It was a total disappointment for us when we arrived at the hotel location. This hotel itself is not a standard alone hotel establishment that we thought it to be! It is actually located on the 17th floor inside a commercial building on No. 2 Danan Road, Yuexiu District, Quangzhou. The other floors are mostly being occupied by foreign students as dormitory type of accommodation. There is one other small hotel called Lavande Hotel located on level 2 of this building (see attached photo). We paid good money for 4 nights thinking that we were staying at a nice Mercure hotel but we were sadly mistaken. Also we did not get decent sleep every night because the room's sound proofing was totally inadequate as we could hear our next room's neighbours conversations which is a joke. I would not recommend this hotel to our fellow travellers visiting Quangzhou in the future.

Hotel location was good. Room and beds were comfortable except that the shower area was not very clean. There were flies crawling and flying out from the drainage on the shower room floor. They congregated on the ceiling and flew overhead in the shower. Provided feedback to the hotel and they were quick to respond to clean and disinfect the shower, however they were unable to eradicate the problem immediately. They offered a change in room which we accepted. The replacement room also had flies coming the drainage, though they were only a handful compared to the almost hundred flies that appeared in the first room. If not for this unfortunate encounter, it would have a been a very pleasant stay.

Very convenient hotel and clean. Just that for the double bed rooms are on level 2 so it may be a bit noisy at night. But great stay over all. Staff are all polite and very friendly.

A very nice hotel with friendly staffs support throughout the day. The rooms are clean, big, and equiped with high technologies that facilitate the stays. Highly recommended for all sorts of travellers to stay. It also have washing machines service for free for long stay traveller that needs to wash their clothes. Overall a very pleasant stay in this hotel, will stay again for the next visit.

The room is spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable too, my mum commented she had a really good sleep during our stay. It’s about 5-7mins walk to the Beijing road pedestrian walk. Gave a 4 for service because the staff at the reception are not as friendly as what I read in other comments though.
