Hotel Carpe Diem Gudauri

✅Liked · The hotel is the one at the back beyond the ski rental. There was no dedicated parking except park where there's space in front of the hotel but that was not very far. The front desk was very helpful. The swimming pool is indoors but not as heated as I liked it to be. Took good 5 mins to adapt to it. The buffet breakfast is decent. The menu for other meals in accessible via QR code and that helped us take our time in choosing what we wanted. ❌Disliked · Room was smelling of unventilated toilet so we had to open the door to let it breathe. Always made sure to put the toilet cover down and close the toilet door. We checked out at 12 noon so they had no bell boy at the time as check in begins at 2pm the road access is crumbling and pothole ridden. The pool was not as warm as I would've liked, but was usable and I swam for good 30 mins.

The location of the hotel is perfect. The breakfast was good. The room was very small. Only one stand night can fit on one side .the other side of the bed is almost sticking to the heating radiator. The smell of the alike hotel bedroom, is very stinky. I asked them to change my room they denied without even taking notes or promise me anything.I asked a second time after 2 days. They showed me 2 rooms with same smell. And although big surprise they said if I move to a "biiger" room I have to pay the difference and big amount as she said. After few minutes she called me in the room to inform me that if I moove to that room I won't pay any extra. The photos in the *********** web site is completely incompatible with the reality. I have photos and video of the room (416). They sent A maintenance Staff, he just put a chemical treatment liquid. Without checking the root cause of the pb. The timing of the breakfast is very tight (from 8 to 10 am) No uniform for the restaurant staff. They are putting their own clothes !!!???? (Big question of hygiene. There was a wall blocking the view, only 90° view angle available.

This hotel offers a very poor experience in terms of service and room quality. The breakfast is subpar, and the staff in the main restaurant are exceptionally rude and unaccommodating. They appear indifferent to guests’ needs and act unprofessionally. I do not recommend this establishment. If you want to enjoy your time in Gudauri, I suggest choosing a different hotel.

We went in the summer season and the views out of the hotel were just majestic, we got the two bedroom room which was the biggest and the best room available in the hotel it had three balcony from the room and the views from all three were just awesome, the room looks outdated but for the budget its fine, the breakfast was a disappointment in the hotel with no variety in food and no one to address the concerns of the diners, hot water is also a issue as it was not consistent but better than the hotels we found in Georgia.

This is a terrible hotel. Do not stay here!!! The manager of the hotel was rude and the staff unhelpful. They could barely speak English. We arrived in a storm at 6:30 am after a 18 hour trip. People were left to drag their suitcases up an 800 meter slope in half a meter high of snow. The entrance to the hotel was not cleared of snow that night or in the following days. The entrance to the hotel did not have a mat and thus was a slip hazard and in spite of asking the staff on a daily basis to put a mat down so people would not fall and hurt themselves, the staff did nothing and neither did the manager. The bed was cardboard hard. The ski rental shop was on a lower level so people had to climb with their uncomfortable ski shoes up narrow stairs with no rail to hold on to, to access the ski storage room only to be screamed at by the unfriendly manager. The staff did not help with suitcases in any shape or form. Taxis arriving near the hotel entrance skidded on the ice and very nearly missed hitting my friend who half a meter to the right would have landed up in hospital. The ski slope was accessible but demanded a 5 minute walk up the slope. Breakfast was very very basic. Stale bread, a few croissants, jams some cucumber and tomatoes cheese and on good days scrambled eggs. The hotel has an atm machine thank gif because the nearest change is a 25 minute walk away in the snow. There is no village or shops for a nice apres ski experience. The slopes are wide and not very crowded. Although I enjoyed them I am not a super good skier I believe they mostly suit people with a basic level of skiing. So not a great place to go skiing and definitely not the hotel you’d want to stay at.

This is our 4th time to Gudauri for skiing, but our first time to Carpe Diem. We always stay in Old Gudauri versus New Gudauri because whilst there are probably more restaurants over that side, the ski gondola over at New Gudauri becomes so insanely busy that I don't believe it's worth it. That said, we have always stayed at one of the ski-in/ ski-out hotels, and Carpe Diem was a decent option. The breakfast selection isn't expansive, and I wouldn't rate the dinner/ dining experience whatsoever. There was one or two little restaurants just next to the hotel that we found with very good food and excellent pricing. The duplex room we stayed in was large and the ski locker area was better than I've seen in some of the other hotels we've stayed in. Overall, the location of this hotel is it's winning attribute
