Li River Hotel (Guilin Two Rivers and Four Lakes Xiangshan Scenic Spot) recensioner

Travelled from Hong Kong with my family through the 3-hour HSR ride to Guilin. This hotel pleasantly surprised me by its breakfast buffet first of all! 😋😋 Stir fried tender green pepper with pork was my favorite, followed by the freshly made, authentic Guilin rice noodles, which I had three bowls of! The location is unmatched inside the quiet walking area directly facing the Sun Moon towers and close to all major scenic sights. 🐘🌄🏞️ Great for a morning jog along the two river four lakes area ( I followed a route recommended on Strava ) in the midst of the city’s unique ubiquitous osmanthus flower fragrance ( “Gui Hua”). 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️ Can talk to hotel concierge via WeChat and most times the cute Hotel robot will deliver stuff to us to help out quickly. Such a beautiful weekend I spent here and think I’ll come here again ~~

Everything about this hotel is amazing, as you’d expect. However it is quite expensive. Rooms are spacious and you aren’t guaranteed a great view. Also don’t be fooled, the pool on the top floor is not for swimming. Also the actual swimming pool is quite small and so is the gym.

The staff is really generous and helping. Room was perfect with perfect view. We would stay there again next time.

Best hotel in town for sure. Western standards. The staff was super nice to us. Daily snacks delivered to our room everyday, a jacuzzi with the best view of the city and mountains behind. Breakfast was great with again an amazing view. I highly recommend this hotel

Amazing location- can see the Sun & Moon Towers 日月双塔 and moutains right from the hotel. Got to do the travel photoshoot by Fox Look--awesome photographer and fair pricing.

Wow. We are traveling around China and this hotel had to be one of the best so far. The location is amazing. It’s steps from the river and minutes to must see destinations. The hotel rooms were so beautiful we had a hard time deciding to leave our hotel or just look at sights from our window. The service was also top notch, we were shown to our room and was given a well versed set of destinations for our day. The restaurant at the top of the hotel also happens to be one of the best in the area. They even have a free photography session for you but you have to rsvp in advance which we missed but hope you see this review and book with them a day in advance!! Def stay here!

River Li Hotel exceeded our expectations with its superb view overlooking the lake and the iconic two pagodas. Our cozy room was the perfect spot to take in the beautiful scenery. We especially loved the afternoon tea experience, which added a lovely touch to our stay. The staff were super helpful and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Overall, a fantastic experience that we highly recommend!

This is an excellent boutique hotel. My room is Clean and modern. Excellent services include free laundry facilities, free water and snacks in the room. Since it’s a small hotel, no large tour groups to be seen. I loved it.

I am very happy with our stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, near the lake, a few minutes walk to Riyue (Sun Moon) twin towers. The hotel is very clean, looks like newly remodeled. Great view from hotel restaurant. Good options for breakfast and all amenities are really good. All fruits/snacks/drinks in the hotel are free. Have you ever seen toiletries in hotels look this good (see attached photo)? Best of all, their customer service is top notch. Everyone works there are very polite and helpful. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are at Guilin, probably the best you can find.

Beautiful rooms and lovely breakfast. Our booking included a one-hour massage, which we enjoyed tremendously. We were also given beautifully packaged gifts when we left.

The ventilation in the room is quite bad. Not worth the money being charged. Service was good but the breakfast buffet was just avg.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Each employee went above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast buffet includes a variety of westerner and delicious local food. From arranging an excellent boat ride down the Lijiang River to helping us order a pizza delivery to our hotel room -- we were always relaxed and felt welcomed. I highly recommend this location.

Bo Yin Hotel (Li River Secluded Hotel) Our visit to Guilin was to spend time with my wife’s large family and we twice stayed at the Li River Secluded hotel, for a total of 7 nights. Our expectations of a hotel experience are high, so we avoid using American chain hotels when possible. The Li River Secluded hotel more than met those expectations by combining exceptional customer service with a laid back, but luxurious guest experience. On arrival, we were offered a room upgrade. The upgrade accommodation was located on the ground floor, so this did not appeal to us until we were shown the room … the suite was spacious and tastefully furnished with a Zen motif that included a ceremonial tea table. Both my wife and I practice daily yoga, so the ample floor space immediately appealed to us. A room-width picture window featured a view of the Li River Lake and its pair of pagodas. Remote-controlled drapes and shears sound-proofed and eliminated light from the room when closed. A buffet daily breakfast on the 8th (top) floor was included and featured a good selection of both Chinese and Western options. We had family commitments that prevented us from eating dinner at the restaurant, but my wife hosted an afternoon tea session in the restaurant for some of her friends and the tea and pastries were excellent. In addition, fresh fruit was placed in the room every day, and the room refrigerator was refreshed daily with water, sodas, and snacks. The hotel was generally maintained in pristine condition and effected the highest standards of cleanliness. This applied to all the facilities apart from a small exercise room on the 5th floor. This consisted of a set of barbells (no bench), a fixed weight station (functional), and 2 treadmills, neither of which functioned properly … that said, I did use the weight station and the patio outside of the exercise room for yoga on a couple warmer days. There was also a guest laundry on the 5th floor which my wife used on one occasion. The customer service attitude in Chinese hotels is generally an improvement on what we are accustomed to in North America, but at the Bo Yin Hotel it’s exceptional. This means that English language speakers (I’m Canadian and my wife is Chinese by birth) would experience no problem in addressing any of the front desk, maid, or restaurant personnel. For those who prefer to order take-out food, a robotic delivery service is used, a feature that tends to fascinate any child you might be traveling with. Sean Bennett
