We had a lovely stay. Our room was lovely, the whole place was spotlessly clean, the meals we had were excellent and breakfast was great. Moreover, we cannot thank ALL of the Team for making us feel welcome, relaxed and well looked after. You provide a very friendly and professional service and we will certainly stay again whenever we next visit the area.

A lovely hotel, freshly refurbished, with comfortable beds and good sized rooms. The location is perfect, with great views of the golf course at the front and the garden at the rear. The staff were all exceptionally pleasant and helpful- nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were delicious and the evening meals good. The hotel is just off the high street, so is very quiet but convenient, and there is easy access to the beaches and the John Muir Way. Highly recommended!

We went for an overnight stay, for our 43rd wedding anniversary at The Mallard Hotel, Gullane, they gave us an upgrade on our room, overlooking the golf course, which was delightful. Our evening meal was delicious and the breakfast was cooked to order, not left out for self service. We were certainly spoilt by friendly staff. If you're looking for a different local place to try for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, evening meal or overnight stay. We've tried them all at the Mallard and weren't disappointed.

Spent a wonderful overnight in this beautiful hotel after walking with a group of friends from Prestonpans to Gullane as part of the John Muir Way. After our walk we relaxed with a bottle of wine in the lounge area where staff were very friendly and attentive. After freshening up we were welcomed into the restaurant and enjoyed a fabulous meal which as well as being delicious was great value for money. Enjoyed my stay so much I’ve booked an overnight in April to celebrate my husbands birthday.

Wonderful overnight stay at The Mallard. Received very warm welcome by Hannah and Amanda, and William in the bar looked after us very well! Great food and choices in the restaurant, and at breakfast. Lovely Hotel in a great location for golf courses, and long coastal walks…and visiting nearby towns. Will definitely be back!

Excellent meal on Saturday evening in the restaurant and the service was outstanding and will definitely be back. Never been in the Mallard for over 46 years, which I can hardly believe. We have good friends who stay in Gullane who were celebrating 40 years of marriage and it was my birthday, so delighted we enjoyed our evening. Thank you

The hotel was very easy to find and park. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Good food nicely served. The ground floor accessible room is comfortable, well fitted and has east access to both the road and the rear car park. Excellent wifi.

Food ok, the welcome was unfortunately not great to the point we almost walked out. Would suggest some training for front of house staff - seems from other recent reviews we aren’t alone so hopefully management take notice. A warm welcome and great service cost nothing.
