Rodeway Inn Gunnison

Still a nice place to stay and view the Aspens. Parker and staff are so accommodating and make everyone feel welcome. Good location to tour Gunnison, Crested Butte and Ohio and Kebler passes. Favorite Fall with fabulous color ! Heavenly views !

I stay at motels about 40 days a year. Rodeways are hit and miss on quality and cleanliness. This one is nice with a recent remodel. The breakfast bar was good too and clean looking. Nice area to walk our dogs in back by the gold course. I would recommend this motel.

Old and needing updates. Dead lightbulbs. Inadequate lighting. Bathroom not clean. Room was not ready when promised. Desk clerk not helpful. Reception area is dirty and cluttered. Breakfast: ran out of coffee and eggs by 7:30 am. I will never stay here again.

This motel is old and very tired and needs a substantial remodel. The place is hard to see from the Highway because trees hide the sign. Then there is a horrible bright bluer building in front which I believe is a church. On the plus side, the people that run the motel are very pleasant and accommodating. They do the best with what they have to work with.

I feel like I went to a different hotel than the rest of the reviews, but I assure you I didn't. I pre-booked a room based on the reviews despite my hesitance due to it being a Rodeway Inn. My initial impression was not good, as the place would be charitably referred to as "in need of updating". The lobby looks like Grandma's living room with lots of clutter and there were many derelict cars on the property. Had I not pre-booked and pre-paid, I would have left right then, as I value my vacation time. However, I went to my room and that was the final straw. A combination of cigarette odor and very very old carpet/furnishings made the smell overpowering. I stood outside and called a new(er) hotel in town and lucked into the last available room. Went back to lobby, handed the key back and split. Not having to stay in this place was definitely worth losing my money - yuck!! I assure you I am no picky princess, this place is just nasty.

My dog and I had a very pleasant stay. The people who run the hotel are very nice and accommodating. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe. The motel is very well tended to and you can tell they care about the place. The motel is an older but the rooms were super clean, comfortable beds, and the furniture and carpet are in good condition. There wasn't any doggy smells or any other smells. The air conditioner worked well and wasn't very loud. There is a microwave, refrigerator (without freezer), and a coffee maker in the room. The owners are also very dog friendly and have two beautiful dogs of their own. There are 2 doggy potty spots on the property. And, the parking is free and you can park right in front of your door, which makes it easy to carry your luggage and stuff right into the room. The price was very good for Gunnison and I would stay again.

GREAT pet friendly hotel. Super nice staff...all I met (3-4). Huge rooms. Park outside room. Huge parking spots. Large potty area for dogs. Have 18 pet friendly rooms even though online site says 2. Recently updated all the furniture in rooms. Very nice even though it was not that bad before. Big stuffed beds. I have to jump up to get on them. Did not use but has a hot tub with good reviews. Patio/picnic area with hammock, grill, tables, etc. They LOVE pets. I stayed 3 times recently for a dog event. Each time I declared my 2 dogs & they waived the pet fee. Continental breakfast with usual pastries, fruit, cereal. Also has hot scrambled eggs & sausage. Ice machine always worked. Nice linens. When I had booked another hotel for one of the events & mentioned to staff he gave me better rate so I cancelled & stayed here. Will stay here each year for all our events. Pet fee is $15/pet/night When I arrive always take the dogs short distance to Neversink Trail on Gunnison River & let dogs take a walk & cool off in river. Very convenient to town. Attached pics are with new furniture. All ground floor rooms.

Very affordable option in gunnison. The front desk staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and good sized. The room was clean, if a little dated; however, we saw indications that they were getting ready to do some furniture renovations, so in all likelihood, the rooms will be updated in the future. The breakfast was not necessarily anything to write home about, just standard fare. Overall, I would say we were satisfied with the experience for the price.

We very much enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Gunnision Rodeway. Our room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was great - including scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, pastries and more. And Parker Hise, the General Manager, was on top of everything -- from check-in/ out, to stocking breakfast items, to maintaining the rooms and the entire property.
