Bong Hostel Ha Giang Loop

I recently completed the Ha Giang Loop 3N4D with bong and it was hands down the best thing I’ve done in Vietnam. There is lots of controversy on which company to do the loop with, we had an amazing experience with Bong and highly recommend you choose them. We booked on the Bong website which was a really easy process. Bong booked our busses for us and sent us a message the day before to say where to be which was seamless etc. I would highly recommend paying a little bit extra to do the cabin bus instead of the regular sleeper bus. We had private rooms and the rooms were nice. The last Homestay we were in a bungalow which was nice. The best part of the loop was my easy rider Minh Khôi. Minh Khôi made me feel so safe the whole time. There were some crazy routes and I never doubted his ability. He is unbelievably competent, and an extremely talented motorbike driver. He clearly has great experience and knew all of the routes which made it a very comfortable ride. I was in awe of his ability to make me feel so safe whilst having so much fun. I’d love to see Minh Khôi be a leader one day. I have no doubt that I will return and do the Ha Giang Loop again with Bong, and I will request to have Minh Khôi again.

Good experience overall. The cabin bus was disappointing though. Bus to Ha Giang: Old and falling apart. No usb ports or reading lights in the cabins despite being advertised. Bus to Hanoi: Extremely rough, fast driving meant many passengers couldnt get any sleep. Driver refused a toilet break after being asked/pleaded with by multiple passengers. We were told 1 hour until a toilet break. 2 hours later I approach him and he shouts and pushes me back to my seat and says "yes we will stop". I'm currently on the bus, approaching hanoi and I have been holding a wee for over 5 hours. Ridiculous. There were 12 or so blankets in an empty cabin besides me. It was cold so I took 2 extra. A staff member came and pulled the blankets off me, told me im only allowed one. I pointed out the extra blankets and he ignored me. Just threw my blankets back on top of the other 10. What kind of service is this for the extra bus upgrade? Such a horrible end to a nice trip. Maybe take 2mins teach drivers basic communication/etiquette needed for backpackers on these buses.

It was so fun ! My easy driver was safe and also generous, I would recommend the experience to everyone, the food was also very good.
