Enjoyable one night stay, we stayed in room named Regency which was spacious with lots of light from the large four sash windows and had a great balance of traditional features and contemporary upgrades. We dined in the restaurant for dinner which offers a Menu of five starters/mains/deserts together with nibbles option, the food was nicely presented, but the menu was not really to our liking, good selection of wine & beverages, my partner enjoyed her Cocktail. Breakfast was very nice with decent selection. Owner Tyler was very helpful and offered plenty of local information. Nice little Suffolk town with some nice local shops pubs and restaurants. Some areas of the accommodation could do with addressing and improving to offer a more pleasing aesthetic look to guests would be the garden area, the reception area and the view into the yard from the staircase, none of these impacted on our overall experience in mid-winter. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely comfy bed and good quality teas and coffees. Fresh milk! Why can’t all establishments provide that? Makes such positive difference. The home baked cookies were a lovely touch too. Breakfast was delicious, excellent quality ingredients, generous and cooked perfectly. Our host was charming and great to chat to. Only downside which has nothing to do with The Boarding House is that the church next door thinks it’s a good idea to “ring” it’s bells every 15 minutes - 24 hours a day. As it was warm we had to sleep with the windows open and as such I use the term “sleep” very loosely. Absolute madness in my mind. Who would be negatively impacted if they stopped doing this during the night at least? Just because it’s been done for centuries doesn’t seem a reasonable excuse to me! Of course if you’re local you likely don’t notice it after a while, but for two nights as customers we certainly did. Such a shame as it did impact our stay.

We booked the 3 rooms at The Boarding House for a family occasion. Tyler the owner was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We also had an evening meal at the restaurant, the food was excellent and presented really well, the breakfast was also delicious. I would highly recommend the Boarding House to either stay or dine.

Highly recommend The Boarding House, conveniently located in the lovely market town of Halesworth. Our room (the Garden Room) was tastefully decorated and light and airy with large windows overlooking the garden. The home baked biscuits were a lovely touch. The breakfast (included in the room price), and the meal we had in the restaurant in the evening were both 5 star and great value for money. The owners and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, making it a pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Will definitely be returning.

This is a great boutique hotel in a historic building overlooking a small (and quiet) market square. We had a very clean room, very comfortable bed, and modern bathroom. I especially liked the eco friendly Faith in Nature toiletries. A particular highlight was the food, both breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was fantastic and far better than most hotel breakfasts I’ve experienced - especially because the friendly and flexible service made it very personal. Dinner was also fantastic. I highly recommend a stay at the boarding house, and/or a visit to the restaurant

What a great find The Boarding House is. We stayed for 2 nights in the Green Room which is a huge bedroom with a comfy big bed and a lovely en-suite (homemade biscuits were a nice touch, along with good coffee and tea). Tyler (owner/chef), cooked an amazing meal on our second night (if you don't stay in the hotel, you should try and book in for dinner, it was really, really good). Great food, very friendly staff and a warm welcome from the owner. Halesworth is a lovely town, market day on Wednesday, some nice independent shops on the high street. All in all a wonderful break and we shall return.
