What a fabulous place. We stayed just one night. The room was super comfortable and immaculately clean. Delicious home made cookies on arrival was a surprise treat. Dinner was also superb. Already booked a return visit. If you are considering a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Disappointed. I have visited Shibden Mill Inn several times and been very happy on each occasion but today was not up to its usual high standards. Always been a fan of the pie of the day, but today didn’t quite hit the mark. Lamb stifado was today’s pie but it had more potato in it than lamb, and it may be personal preference but there was too much cinnamon in the dish. Hoping this isn’t an indication of things to come. I’ll take today as an aberration and will return but I wasn’t impressed.

We booked to go here at the last minute, I took my mum for a treat. There was absolutely no problem fitting us in, but they were very busy to say it was a Wednesday! The food was fantastic, the service was great service as always. I have been a few times in the last few months and have always had top notch service. Great vegan choices too. Would definitely recommend.

Had an exceptionally tasty meal and would definitely recommend and visit again. The ambience was beautiful, service excellent and each course was gorgeous. Portions were perfect and for those wanting something more traditional, the menu included fish and chips , which my colleague ordered.

Friday Lunchtime taster menu with wine flight. Service was absolutely top class, the young ladies serving were superb, very knowledgeable on both dishes & wine. Perfect timing between courses. Food was excellent with some real surprises. An excellent afternoon

A lovely place in a nice, secluded setting. Plenty of car parking and a large outdoor seating area. The staff were friendly and attentive and every element of our food (chicken & leek pie and gluten free fish & chips) was lovely. Today was our first visit but we will endeavour to come back soon

The absolute best food I've ever tasted! The chef is AA starred and it shows in his dishes. I had pigeon and the crab and quails egg scotch egg with crab bisque, followed by a rhubarb dessert. The staff were very friendly and chatty and made us feel at ease immediately.

This is a truly amazing place. Traditionsl interior with open fires, excellent outside tables, heaters. Grest position. The food is superb. The service is friendly and attentive. Such a really great menu with a great wine list. Lovely nibbles, wonderful choice os starters. Main courses included traditional and more unusual. We had the cheese board instead of desert. We will be back!

Visited this wonderful Hotel as a gift from our daughter and son in law. As we arrived we were welcomed by Lucy who escorted us to our divine room and explained everything that we may have needed. The dinner and breakfast were just superb, which was what we expected, but what makes this Inn award winning is the superb hospitality, from the girls at the bar to the girls who served our beautiful food and drinks, not forgetting housekeeping ladies. Little touches like crystal glasses, homemade cookies in our room with beautifully presented coffees and teas, "Emma's" homemade muesli and jams, just bang on the money. As expected the food was delicious, the featherblade beef, the duck and local cheeses were sublime. Beautiful walks nearby with the fabulous Halifax Borough Market, The Piece Hall and Shibden Hall, we really did pack it all in. When you have a special night away you really want to leave feeling spoilt, we certainly did. Thankyou so much to everyone at The Shibden Inn, we shall definitely return.
