Calm hotel set in the beautiful jungle, within 30 minutes of Yala. Hotel is basic, rooms are clean and functional and aircon works. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Chana is a superstar and really looked after us. Only negative is restaurant area is too hot.

Awesome place to stay amidst forest. Thanks to manager for all the special efforts taken by him to make our short stay very comfortable and memorable. Rooms are cozy, clean, comfortable with a balcony facing forest. Food delicious, the best I had during my tour.

Our stay at Magampura Eco Village Resort, Kataragama, Sri Lanka was an absolute pleasure. From the moment of our arrival, till our last waves goodbye, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The rooms were cozy and comfortable and the entire hotel was beautifully integrated with nature. Surrounded by lush greenery, it offered a peaceful serene escape. The hotel’s proximity to the infamous yala national park makes it a brilliant wildlife enthusiast’s destination. As a family that is extremely fond of the wilderness, this was the perfect stay. Hoping to return soon. Highly recommended.

Disappointing Stay - Not Worth the Money This was my 7th stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, it seems like things have only gone downhill. While the staff does try their best and serve with genuine effort, the overall experience was far from satisfying. The rooms were dirty, and the bathrooms had poor water supply. The TV didn’t work, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was subpar. But the most disappointing aspect was the food. We booked on a full board basis, but the quality of the meals was terrible. For dinner, they claimed to serve Indian food with Naan roti, but it was nothing more than a basic flatbread. The chicken masala curry was just a bland black curry. The breakfast was equally bad, with raw fruits being served. Despite charging us 23,000/=, the food quality was barely worth 3,000/=. It felt like a complete rip-off. We won’t be returning to this place and wouldn’t recommend it to others. A really terrible experience overall.

I was at Katharagama on 15th Sep. Sunday to 16th Sep. Monday which was a long weekend in Sri Lanka. We booked a Family room which cost me Rs.19,500/= for ROOM only. But the TV was not working at all. WIFI was not working and no signal. Wash room is spacious with very basic amenities and inside the commode it was not clean. Room is spacious but the poor maintenance is a must. Bed linen and towels seemed to be washed, but had so many patches and marks and I felt they are not fully clean. Staff was ok. No idea about the food as we had purchased food from outside. I chose the place after seeing the pics on the website. But sorry to say that the hotel is not as described in pics. Anyway had a peaceful stay. But.need lot more maintenance amd for sure NOT WORTH for Rs. 19,500/=. My honest view is , family room is worth only max. of Rs. 12000/= (Room only)

I stayed here in Feb 2024 and had a wonderful stay. The place was in an excellent location close to Yala and Kataragama and had wonderful nature scenery. The rooms were well kept and amenities were provided. The food and buffet was tasty and had a wide variety. The staff were also really friendly and organised transport for day trips and back to Colombo. Good place to stay for all ages.

Worst place I have ever stayed. The photos are nothing like the resort. The food was not fresh and had been microwaved. The room was covered in bugs. Can’t believe it’s a 4* resort it should be 2*. We were meant to stay for two nights but ended up cancelling our second night and staying somewhere else.

Very average resort overall, rooms are huge but not very clean, TV was not working, no wifi available in the rooms, wifi is only available at the reception lobby, good views and very quiet, very green, breakfast spread not bad, overall a pleasant stay

The rooms had comfy beds and great air con. Very eco but still comfortable enough. Friendly staff. We had everything we needed but in a budget way. Rooms felt clean but dated. Food was ok. At least we could order food and drinks. Other hotels in the area don’t offer this so we were grateful. About 45 mins drive to the Yala Forest. Low internet reception.
