Lake Hamilton Motor Village and Caravan Park

A very disappointing experience considering the top dollars we paid for what we were told were their premium powered sites along the river which turned out to be a rainwater runoff and close to the lake - which was a walk across the busy highway. No t.v. Reception (you could borrow an antenna cable for a $50 bond) but how would you connect it to your tv without leaving the door or windows open. Wifi was non existent. Only 2 showers and they had mouldy walls being painted over and over with the exhaust fan so dirty it looked like it had never been cleaned. Apart from 3 toilets in the shower room , there were two toilets installed closer to the campsites, however they had no exhaust or airing capacity. All washing machines were using cold water only and the drawer for the laundry powder was absolutel Filthy.

Spent one night in one of the 2 room cabins. Pleasantly surprised is the best explanation I can give. Well laid out, excellently priced, clean and with all the amenities you would need for 1,2,3,4 nights or more. Check in was easy with the lovely lady who checked us in recommending the Grand Central Pub in town (a 10 minute walk) for dinner which was golden advice, excellent food there . Beautifully maintained little park thats in great location so highly recommended

Stayed in a two bedroom cabin for five nights. It was clean, fully stocked with all the items needed for a holiday. Reasonably new and very clean. Lots of blankets, needed in Winter. Only complaint id that the toilet pan was kids height. rather difficult to get off if you are an adult with mobility issues. Good position, and well appointed park. Big bonus is that there is a platypus breeding pair in the stream next to the park. I would stay there again.

This was our first camping experience in our new camper trailer and it couldn’t have been better. We had four nights over Easter, the park was beautiful, with the autumn trees displaying their amazing colours. It was clean and close to town and walking trails. Our welcome at reception was warm and friendly and made us feel at home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone and would definitely stay here again if passing through Hamilton.

We had a really nice relaxing weekend stay in our caravan. The grounds are immaculate and the sites are really well presented. It’s just a short walk to the lake and we found Hamilton a lovely base to explore Nigretta Falls / Wannon Falls / Coleraine and the surrounding areas. Perfect for our weekend away.

At the start of February we had a very unfriendly greeting and incredibly rude experience. The lady at the front counter made our stay very difficult and has prompted me to write a bad review (which I never do). Would not recommend.
