Hamilton Island Holiday Homes

I regret not reading the reviews of Hamilton Island before taking my family from the United States to Hamilton Island for holiday. In retrospect, i would not have gone there. So many things went wrong. The service is poor. The staff is rude, argumentative and the infrastructure is lacking. To begin with, they ask the guests to fill out a form about flights, dates, travel, arrivals ect... but when we arrived, they had none of that, so we had to fill it out all over again. This was a precursor to the rest of our stay. They gave us the wrong keys to the home we rented (again, a precursor, because the home was awful). So, we had to get back in our buggy and drive back down the mountain to get the correct keys. Only to find out that all the staff had left the arrival area by then. So, we had to search for someone to give us the correct keys. We arrived at our " holiday home, Heleconia 11, and it was terrible. The front door was peeling, it smelled inside like mildew, the curtains in the bedroom were falling down, the windows were filthy, the sofa had holes in it. The air-conditioning was leaking water on the rug. It was like a frat house. Awful. After contacting the "front desk" about 2 hours later, there was no solution to move us. Ultimately, we had to take the situation in our own hands and found the last Air Bnb on the island, which was a life saver. I contacted the front desk, email and called no less than 6 times and did not hear back from them until the after we left the original property. We still have not been reimbursed for the week we paid for. Cruise Whitsunday for diving tour: If you are planning on diving, DON'T sign up for this all day " tour". It should not even be a " dive boat tour". It is like being on Carnival Cruise Lines, there are way too many people, with way too many activities planned on one vessel. It was chaotic, poor service, rude staff and the dive was awful. We came from the States to the Great Barrier Reef to dive, and it was a poor experience. That is really crazy. If you go, use a local Padi or Naui dive group. Overall, the dining and bar experieneces also had similarly bad, rude service. Too many to go into more details. The management and owners of Hamilton Island need to get a grip and fix the awful experience. It is a gorgeous location and should be quite a magical experience, but it absolutely is not.

Stayed at Hidden Cove 2. Place was nice and the views were great. However had nothing but issues from the start. On arrival the buggy was broken and the only way down was for Adults and Kids to carry all our luggage down a very step and long entrance. About a 5 minute walk. Multiple people fell over as it was raining and slippery. We were then left with no keys to access the facilities for 2 days and no information for numbers to call for issues or access code for the wifi. The only contact was the valet people who were great in helping us try and sort things out. When were had our buggy replaced it stopped working that night and the battery would last about 0.5 hours max. Then told to walk to the other side of the island to pick up another buggy. Luckly the valet team picked us up and drove us there as it would be a huge walk. One of the areas for sleeping had no blind so the kids were awake early every morning. One of the beds had no quilt cover. The kitchen had no tea towels and the spa bath did not work. For a house that sleeps 10 people there was barely enough cutlery and plates. Were told they would fix these things but heard nothing back from them. The only way out of the property is to get your own stuff up to the roadway from the extremely steep and slippery driveway. In the common pool area a button to activate the spa jets had an electric shock that got my wife when she pushed the button. This was fixed by one of the maintenance crew the next day but not good enough. This place could have been an amazing stay but was impacted by the lack of care and attention for detail. Hamilton Island homes need to do better for what is meant to be a luxury holiday home.

1st time on the island and what a delight. Spotless, relaxing and a paradise feeling. In some ways it was like living on a film set with all the buggies flying around as the only mode of transport. Beautiful beaches, restaurants and facilities. Would definitely go back

Booked Casuarina Cove #2 with family and on arrival the apartment was ready early so we were given keys and buggy and sent on our way. This is where the positives end. From there we arrived with and found the fridge not working properly. Over 3 days and many phone calls and waiting for services, the fridge was swapped with another faulty one and then again the following day. In the end we only had access to a working fridge for the last 24hrs we were there with multiple food items not able to be used and drinks not cold. The bathrooms were in need of a renovation with a shelf breaking off and nobody had a hot shower for the entire time we were there. At $700 per night, this was not the experience you expect. The response from holiday homes was poor and they excuse issues with saying they do not own properties only manage them. Stay at Reef View Hotel as experience will certainly be better.

Stayed in Shorelines apartments and it was very dirty, there was dirt and sand on the floors it didn't seem as though it had been vacuumed, the walls and doors were filthy and covered in scuffs and dirty prints, there were badly patched up holes in the walls, and then a huge open hole in the wardrobe ceiling of the bedroom. The accommodation included buggy hire, which we drove very carefully, so were very shocked to receive an email from the front office saying that we'd hit a curb and damaged the front tyre and axel - which we definitely did not. There is no way that we could prove we didn't do this and zero options to challenge this in any way because we signed a contract and the damage was not something we could take a photo of to prove otherwise. We've had to pay over $500 for something we didn't do, it was an awful experience, absolutely will never return to Shorelines (Hamilton Island Holiday Homes) or Hamilton Island.

Absolutely rubbish. No services to help you with anything. You ring guest services but they don’t come. Apartment looks rubbish not like photos and nothing works. Biggie broke down first 5 minutes Wifi rubbish Tv doesn’t work Frangapani 001 apartment is rubbish Don’t waste your money. Book a serviced hotel
