Hotel Residence Mahmoud

Just come back from Residence Mahmoud Hammamet. Please don't book. This is not a good hotel. It is open to the public and the bar is open till early hours of the morning. Very noisy. We changed room 4 times for different reasons. My watch was taken on the 2nd day from our room. Some rooms do not have a safe and it was not explained that the safe is at reception. Food was awful we booked half board. We had to pay for water with our meals. Every evening you had an option of 3 choices and the same dessert every night water melon or honey melon. It says at the front of the hotel that there is security there isn't wifi is difficult to get in most rooms. No entertainment as it states on the holiday advert. It also says there is a spa there is not. The pool was not very clean so keep your head above water. We all had stomach problems and had to buy medication. Please just book somewhere else.

The hotel is located about a 30-minute walk from Hammamet's city center and 15 minutes from the train station, making it a convenient base for exploring the city and its surroundings. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, though the Wifi did not work despite being advertised as available in all rooms. The staff are polite and speak decent English. As for food, breakfast is good, although the selection is somewhat limited. Several restaurants offering both local and international cuisine are nearby. There’s also a restaurant within the hotel that serves good food, which is a great option for those who prefer to stay in at night. Beer, wine, and other spirits are available at reasonable prices. The swimming pool is clean and well-maintained, and drinks are served poolside, although the service can be a bit slow. The clientele is a mix of Europeans, Tunisians living abroad, and locals. Verdict: While not exactly a peaceful retreat, especially on weekends, this hotel is an excellent base for exploring Hammamet. The price-to-quality ratio is good, and it is relatively affordable by European standards.

A little gem. Cheap but surprisingly good value. A quaint traditional feel in a good location. If you're looking for a great deal well this hotel offers just that. Breakfast was included although nothing special it was fine. Reception were friendly and although I had to change my room this was no problem. The manager was very helpful in changing my room. The food is reasonably priced and u can get service to the poolside which was great too. There's a friendly lifeguard and helpful restaurant staff there. The rooms are adequate some perhaps bigger and quieter than others so ask for a quiet room as some rooms overlook the restaurant/bar courtyard below which comes alive with young Tunisias at night. All in all a very good attractive hotel with an excellent price and great pool. 👍

Adorable hotel with even nicer employees! The hotel itself is really nice unfortunately theres not much around it. The breakfast is simple yet tasty and the dinner was delicious. The employees also know English and some even know German. It was a nice atmosphere.

Хороший отель за невысокую стоимость. Чистый, уютный отель, доброжелательный персонал. В номере проводилась уборка каждый день, меняли постельное бельё раз в 3 дня. Завтрак в отеле был скудненький, а вот ужин сытный и вкусный. Если вы хотите поехать в этот отель, то я, однозначно, вам его рекомендую!

Petit hôtel très joli et très agréable..propre et verdoyant..décoration typique tunisienne..Petit déjeuner copieux et prix très abordables..restaurant de grande qualité..très bien situé près de la mer et du centre ville..parfait pour les soirées ou un week-end

Hotel agreable et propre, décorations typiques orientales, chambres spacieuses, piscine agréable Points negatifs: loin du centre, petit dejeuner laisse à desirer, pas de gel douche dans les salles de bain, et restaurant peu cher mais peu qualitatif avec un service tres long

Le négatif : 1) Très Bruyant, j'ai demandé une chambre calme, on me met dans une cour qui est bruyante toute la nuit avec des gens qui mangent tard le soir et restent toute la nuit à discuter 2) Wifi qui ne fonctionne pas dans la chambre même avec un forfait prépayé ORANGE 3) la plage est petite , bondée , vous êtes les uns sur les autres , aucune place et aucune intimité 4) la plage est remplie de cailloux , il faut faire 100 mètres dans l'eau pour avoir du sable 5) la chasse d'eau qui ne fonctionne pas , pas d'eau dans les toilettes 6) Restaurant pour les clients de l'hôtel très petit contrairement au restaurant des clients extérieurs qui ont un très grand restaurant 7) Au petit déjeuner, le personnel ne travaille pas , il manque toujours des assiettes , ils n'anticipent rien, il faut toujours leur demander d'apporter de la nourriture , manque de place flagrante , au lieu de regarder les clients, le personnel devrait travailler et voir ce qui manque pour réapprovisionner la nourriture 8) J'ai demandé un thé, d'abord il ne me demande pas quel type de thé je veux, il m'amène du thé noir , celui que je déteste , je préfère le thé vert à la menthe et le pire il est froid, il vous l'apporte sans couvercle et pour couronner le tout , la quantité est juste un petit verre . Pas de thé à la menthe le matin. 9) Petit déjeuner à améliorer grandement que ce soit au niveau du personnel que ce soit au niveau de ce qui est proposé . 10) J'arrive à 13h00 , le réceptionniste me dit 10 minutes pour que la femme de ménage fasse la chambre sachant que ma chambre a déjà été réservé , j'ai attendu 15h00 pour avoir la chambre , ces 10 minutes se sont transformées en 2h , il ne m'a même pas proposé de laisser les affaires et d'aller a la plage surtout qu'il faisait 40 degrés, j'ai perdu 2h au lieu de profiter de la plage, service de nettoyage beaucoup trop long et pas efficace et le pire le jour de mon départ, la femme de ménage arrive à midi pour faire la chambre , j'aurai voulu le jour ou j'arrive que la femme de ménage fasse la chambre à midi et non à 15h00. Ménage trop long 11) Trop loin du centre de Hammamet , 1h de marche à pied 12 ) Manque de sourire du personnel , on a l'impression de déranger la réception quand on demande des informations 13) Aucune information quand on arrive , tenez les clés et débrouillez vous Le positif : 1) Chambre assez grande avec un beau balcon 2) Petit déjeuner avec fruit et yaourt 3) Plage privée avec transat 4) Hôtel typiquement oriental avec des décorations du Maghreb , on se croirait à Marrakech , un joli hôtel 5) Une piscine privée Dans l'ensemble , c'est assez mitigé et moyen mais c'est un hôtel qui a du potentiel s'il est mieux géré .
