Hyatt Place Hampton Convention Center

I stayed here two nights to attend a friend's funeral. Here are the issues I observed: 1. VERY NOISY hotel. The walls between rooms have NO sound insulation; the ceilings/floors between the hotel floors have NO sound insulation. I could hear everything in the room next door and I could hear dancing or jumping from the floor above (5th floor). In addition, the hotel is 1 or 2 blocks from the Coliseum AND is located right next to the very busy (and loud) Pine Chapel Road. I was awakened throughout both nights by the loud vehicles and traffic noise on Pine Chapel Road. PLUS on the second night of my stay there was a car show at the Coliseum; the event noise level coming through my room windows (end of the hotel facing the Coliseum) was VERY LOUD. Not the fault of the Hyatt, but BETTER WINDOWS or SOUND PROOFING would've made sense for the rooms on this end of the hotel. 2. NOT VERY CLEAN. One of the handles on the dresser in my room was covered in some sort of dried liquid - puke? coffee? soda? UNKNOWN. But it should've been obvious to any cleaning staff or cleaning supervisor or manager. ALSO, it appeared as though the umbrella tables on the front patio (by the dining area) had not been wiped off or cleaned in several days or weeks. 3. THE ROOM TELEPHONE WAS INOPERABLE - NO DIAL TONE. It was placed right next to one of the hotel placards that stated "Dialing Instructions and Safety Guidelines. Stay Safe." IT WAS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT hotel management was not concerned for my safety since the phone did not work. It should have been obvious to the hotel manager or cleaning staff that the phone did not work. 4. THE ROOM REFRIGERATOR WAS INOPERABLE. The small refrigerator provided did not work. I will never stay here again and do not recommend this hotel unless major changes to the building and the management are made. I do not plan to stay at any Hyatt hotel ever again.

This Hyatt location, has exceeded my expectation. The hospitality is second to none. And I am forever grateful for excellent service. From the managers to the front desk to the cleaning ladies as well as the breakfast bar ladies. Made my experience at the Hyatt the absolute best. This place will forever have my business.

This is a great hotel, excellent location, very clean, and the staff is super friendly. The doors are a little bit loud, the metal frame/door makes a loud noise, even when you are trying to be quiet. So, it was hard to rest in the morning because of the neighbors who were opening and closing that door every 5 minutes. Other than that it is a great option for the high quality of the hotel. Breakfast is from 7 - 9am during weekend days, I thought it was until 10am like during the weekend, and I missed my breakfast on Monday.

I always love going to this hotel. Everything is always clean, very quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast is the best you can get at a hotel. The staff is a step above amazing as well. If you are in the area and need a place to stay, come here and you won't be disappointed.

Poor to say the least , trash in the halls, Rats in the halls , food in the halls No room cleaned except every 3 days Towels come only if you ask !!!!

I'm a hospitality professional and have managed multiple Hyatt Places in the past. This is my 5th time here and it is always great and consistent

Needs security to keep people from ruining others trips. Biker group argued my entire trip. Made me want to leave hotel

I had a very restful stay at this hotel. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel was in a nice location that allowed easy travel by car or by walking.

Staff (particularly the woman who checked me in) were great. The were both kind and welcoming. The room was clean and accommodating.
