We stayed at building no. 8 and we had truly fantastic stay at this hotel. The rooms is spacious, comfortable and impressive. Their service was exceptional and every staff we encountered was courteous, very friendly and helpful, with special thanks to the butler/ manager of building no. 7 and no. 8, who have made our stays more enjoyable and wonderful. We look forward to staying here again in the future. Big thank you to all the staffs there. Their restaurant serve excellent food too.

The hotel views were amazing, and everything was just great! There was a small hiccup with the toilet seat not being cleaned properly, but as soon as we mentioned it, they quickly came and took care of it.

Lots of history and culture blended in this beautiful lakefront property . Staff are welcoming and warmhearted . There is a Michelin recommended restaurant that offers amazing xihu fish !

This is a historic hotel that has hosted many world leaders and you can really feel the gravitas when you visit. It's an exclusive and beautiful place. Many attractions nearby, reachable via taxi, bike or on foot.

A Serene Escape at West Lake! Perfectly located within the West Lake Scenic Area, this hotel blends tranquility with accessibility. The peaceful surroundings and fresh air instantly relaxed us. Our room was great, offering a cozy retreat after exploring the city.  Morning/evening lakeside walks were pure bliss, a true antidote to urban stress. Breakfast delighted with diverse options from local favorites to global classics, all freshly made. Though the dinner buffet isn’t extensive, every dish shines with fresh, high quality ingredients.  Standout service made our stay exceptional. A special shout-out to Ms. Zhu Mengyao (朱梦瑶）at the front desk, whose warmth and efficiency during check-in/check-out made us feel genuinely welcomed. The electric cart drivers also deserve praise, always cheerful, prompt, and eager to assist with luggage or sightseeing tips.  We really enjoyed the stay and will be back!

Beautiful and luxurious hotel, with an amazing unobstructed view of West Lake and immaculate gardens surrounding it. Great hotel breakfast and amenities. Worth noting that Friday-Sunday, car traffic is restricted in the area surrounding the hotel, making it harder to get there.

Had an extremely wonderful stay at West Lake State Guesthouse! Totally recommend for travellers who want to relax and unwind in nature. Will definitely be back again to this place when I’m in Hangzhou!

Our stay at 西湖國賓館 was an extraordinary experience. Located beside the serene West Lake, the resort offers stunning views, including a direct sightline to the iconic 雷峰塔. The private, impeccably maintained grounds, brimming with vibrant greenery and colorful flowers, create a picturesque and inviting atmosphere. What makes this resort truly unforgettable is the exceptional service. Ms. 阮, who graciously served us during our delightful complimentary afternoon tea, and Daniel, who kindly drove us on the hotel cart, added personal touches to our visit, even with their brief interactions. The housekeeping team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort—keeping our rooms impeccably clean, delivering fresh fruit daily, and warmly greeting us at every opportunity, as though we were part of their family. One particularly heartwarming moment occurred on our final day. When I expressed a simple desire to smell the magnolia flowers blooming in the lobby, the hotel manager kindly asked the gardener, who was tending to the lobby planters, to cut a small branch for me. To my surprise, the gardener also gifted me a lotus flower bud with a warm smile. The bud blossomed beautifully at our next destination, serving as a lasting reminder of the kindness and thoughtfulness we experienced here. As first-time visitors to China, we are deeply impressed not only by the country’s rich history and stunning landscapes but also by the genuine warmth of its people. 西湖國賓館 exemplifies hospitality at its finest, blending meticulous care with heartfelt service, making our stay an experience we will cherish forever.

Beautiful hotel located right at the west lake. Amazing garden, the restaurant is great. Room is big very good view. Highly recommended

West Lake State Guest House is pure perfection. Its serene lakeside setting is breathtaking, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and every space shines with immaculate cleanliness. The food is outstanding — from delicious local specialties to a superb breakfast buffet; they even got samosas right! Elegant, peaceful, and flawlessly maintained, this hotel is a true haven in the heart of West Lake.

This is a beautiful garden hotel. The room in building 2 is clean and new.
