AVOID AT ALL COSTS. My family stayed during the Chinese New Year holidays. It's understandable that there may be staff shortages and some facilities might not be open. However, no staff informed us that there would not be breakfast available on one of the days. So my 2 young children started the day without breakfast thanks to their lack of communication. When we did eventually have breakfast at the hotel the next day, it was of a terrible quality. The coffee was disgusting - it tasted like instant coffee with a horrible after taste. The bedroom was dirty. Black hairs in the bathtub and dust EVERYWHERE. The room was very cold, the radiator did not heat up properly, and after asking housekeeping to look at the radiator, they confirmed they could not fix it. Instead, 2 small heating fans were brought into the bedroom which was not effective enough to make the room warm. The hotel is completely isolated in terms of location. Expect a 20 to 30 minute taxi ride to any of the main attractions i.e. snow world, central street, cathedral etc. Unless you want to build up a high taxi bill from your stay in Harbin, I would suggest spending a little more on staying at another hotel and getting something closer to the main attractions and a nicer environment to stay in. I would definitely not stay here again.
