Historic hotel that Winston Churchill went for respite. Spa hotel. Nice pool and wet and dry saunas. Great for retreat and rest. Nice breakfast in a nice ambience. Spacious room

What a fantastic hotel! Staff were incredible and the facilities were great. Spa was perfect especially later in the evening as it was almost just the two of us with it all to ourself! We ordered room service from Frederick's bar and it was delicious and super speedy. The top tier moment was finding out they were dog friendly and being able to bring our four legged friend along! Will definitely be staying here when we return.

Fantastic stay, a beautiful hotel with amazing staff.

The cost of the accomodation didn’t quite match the level of service we would expect. The location is grand and the facilities are really good, as is the breakfast. However, the pool is limited to strange times for families such as during breakfast and dinner, when the middle of the day is would be more suitable. Also someone chased after us when leaving the spa to return the towels, which two children were using, rather than allowing us to leave them in our room for housekeeping to collect. The house keeping took two turns to send shampoo to our room, after a polite call, they sent shower gel instead. In summary, great food and facilities, but it’s bit awkward with children to be there and the service in the spa and housekeeping is lacking.

I'd had this hotel recommended by a girl behind the counter at Costa, whod been there for her 22nd birthday celebration, she had arranged it through "Group on" at a discounted rate. I came to Double Tree for an early 70th birthday celebration, birthday being in December. My wife and I decided that December would be too cold, so decided to come while the weather was still fairly nice. Well on arrival we were in the car park at the rear of the building. My wife commented that it reminded her of an hospital! The front of the building, and direction we exited through the revolving doors, revealed the sartorial elegance of this 100 year old building ( which was much more in keeping with the mansion of Brideshead Revisted than a hotel! Everywhere in Double Tree is toastingly warm, and the room has been upgraded and marries history with elegance. Staff here are so courteous and remind one of being a genuine guest at a stately home. Going down to breakfast was a delight, comes urate with a hotel of this four/five star standard, Alex H. Thomas I mention as I was helped by them, but ALL the staff were so professional. Nearly a silver service full buffet breakfast ie they did welcome you to the table and ask if we wanted tea or coffee. An excellent breakfast menu was on offer, and I had decided not to partake of the full English, as me and my wife had booked Bettys for an afternoon tea at 1pm. That I thought was too much of a clash! My wife had asked for a blanket for the bed, but it was unnecessary as it was warm 24/7 and we enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep . I noticed the Indian wedding that was being prepared for. This huge hotel was more than capable of accommodating more than one of these celebrations in its multiple banqueting/conference suites. I felt so at home in this welcoming, comfortable hone from home. Superbly situated 5 minutes from the main Harrogate thoroughfare and great selection of shops, resteraurants (we'd visited an amazing Thai resteraunt called Sukhothai the previous evening, I will review later, please try it and you won't be disappointed ). I will visit here again, its the only place to stay in Harrogate!

We went to this lovely historic hotel in Harrogate to celebrate a family birthday. We arrived at the hotel around 14.00 one of our rooms were ready so they let us check in that room early before heading to Betty's. The rooms are large with all amenities you would expect. We visited the spa a couple of times it was very nice. The evening meal £65 per couple on our first night with our package was lovely as was the breakfast. The parking is £15 per day, we walked into Harrogate in the day and used an Uber to get to the restaurant on the second night for ease. Thanks to all the staff at the hotel for making the birthday break one to remember.

AMAZING. Matt and all the staff were super friendly and gentle, I enjoyed my first experience at a spa and our afternoon tea. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here! Lots of love from Mexico

I recently celebrated my wedding here. We did it over a few days. My first celebration was the hen do that I celebrated in the spa, we all had an amazing time and had the best massages from the therapists - zuzanna, Matt, Vanessa and Tanya. The treatments and the afternoon tea was amazing and had great service from the reception team - James and Tiffany. The second day was after our ceremony at the registry office. We came here to have our wedding breakfast. Lucy (the wedding coordinator) made sure everything ran super smooth. The food was superb and better than we expected!- thank you to mark and his team for this. The service was also superb thanks to Sarah and mark and their team The third day was our wedding reception which we held two weeks after the ceremony. Lucy was also amazing on this day and everything was perfect. The room looked amazing and I can’t thank the operations team enough for the amazing night. The bedrooms were impeccable, very clean and was a nice surprise to have rose petals and swans on the bed! 10/10 recommend this venue for your wedding or event
