We stayed for one night on Friday and we loved it here! The location is right in the middle of the village and the car park is a street away £8.50 for 24 hours. We self checked in and it was simple with a door code to access the building and the room which was the same. We had an issue on the evening accessing our room and I rang the number and someone was there within a few mins (this was our error as we was doing something wrong) The room was lovely and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and all very fresh. One of the best we have had. We will certainly be coming back very soon. Thank you Andrea & Carlo

Gorgeous location for a fantastic property. When I visited the main cafe/restaurant was closed so it was all self check. This was really simple and really easy, suited me down to the ground. The building is lovely and clearly well maintained. The bedrooms are lovely, lots of nice touches, really warm and cosy. I would 100% recommend and definitely stay here again. The beds were very comfy and impeccably clean. The room itself could have had some more attention to detail in terms of dusting, but aside from that it was beautiful and I enjoyed my stay

I was surprise at this place, as not very clean. Behind sofa was very dusty. Cobwebs on the ceiling. Sink in Bathroom was blocked. Bed was rock hard and we both had bad backs each morning. Carpark for two days cost £25. We had to ask for more milk and not enough filter coffee. Not recommended so will not visit again.

The hive is a self check in with no scope to arrive early. Parking is a street away and they have no electric charging spaces working. The room was lovely but a bit tired. Stained carpets, broken blind, fridge not working, freezing cold, no streaming tv and limited channels with signal. Breakfast was lovely.

The rooms have clearly had some thought and care in their design and decoration HOWEVER they desperately need some redecoration (badly scuffed and coffee stained walls) and a very deep clean. I stayed in the smallest room, which was adequate and well appointed, but couldn’t wait to leave by the morning. It would have been good value if someone seemed to care about the place. No staff on hand, other than surly restaurant staff who seem to have nothing to do with the rooms above. In it’s current condition, I couldn’t recommend it.

This was a very funky stay. Cosy room with modern facilities, excellent shower, love.y view from our bedroom window. Very welcoming staff/manager nothing was too much trouble, we arrived late and they offered us room service or in the restaurant . Evening meal was delicious Thankyou Sara n Rob xx

Unfortunately after a really nice stay there was some confusion as to whether or not our breakfast was included. After being advised that it was, we all sat down to our breakfast cereal and tea. Once we were half way through eating we were told that there had been a mistake and breakfast wasn't included. We offered to pay for what we had had, but were told that we needed to pay £15 each, as even though we had only had cereal and a pot of tea we needed to pay for a full English too. We did actually pay this amount (£75 in total) but were later advised that as a gesture of good will we would be reimbursed. Unfortunately this still has not happened even though I have contacted them 3 times. I am still waiting for a reply. Such a shame. We won't be staying again

Booked 3 Night break for The Hive at Poppy Red in December for £140 per night , expectations where high, bitterly disappointed. No basic housekeeping daily, no coffee pods replenished or cups and glasses replaced So paid dearly for a boutique Hotel that has no Services!!!! Had an email with directions how to get in room via a back door entrance up an alley with dustbins and old bits of rubbish not a good start On the upside a beautiful bathroom and bedroom, but woken every morning by workmen Refurbishing the Poppy Red Cafe and bar We had no email to state this was happening as If I had know would have cancelled booking So if you looking for a Hotel that self catering With no services for a luxury price this is the hotel for you
