The Crown Pub, Dining & Rooms

Wow, what a hidden gem The Crown is! We were visiting family in the area and booked for a 2 night stay. On entering the room, the bedside lamps and heating were left on for us, making it feel warm and inviting. The room was large with a king size bed and a large wet room. There was a hairdryer and pair of straighteners in a raffia bag hanging by the door, mini toiletries in the bathroom along with bath sheets. A coffee maker, kettle with pods/bags is on the desk along with Love Heart sweets as a bedtime treat. We found a wooden clipboard full of information about the facilities which we found really useful. Breakfast is included at the price and it really was 5* quality ingredients. It was served in the pub and the service from the staff throughout our stay was superb. The whole weekend felt luxurious, quality products in the room, great drinks from the bar and a top notch breakfast. The parking is free, you just have to register your car registration details at the pub entrance. It really was a fantastic weekend and we can't recommend The Crown enough. We will be back very soon!

We had stayed here a couple of years Ago and it was great. This visit however was very different and disappointing. The shower was dirty and the shower head looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for years!! Under the bed was also deep in dust and dirt-again looking like it hadn’t been cleaned for years!! When you walked onto the floor you picked up dirt. We mentioned all of this to the cleaner and she didn’t once apologise!!

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and clean. It had everything you needed with extra touches, such as fresh milk and straighteners, that make all the difference. We ate in the restaurant on one night and the food was delicious. Thank you!

What a fantastic stay even though it was just one night!! The bed was very comfortable, the room n bathroom was very clean but the only thing I will say is that the chair could use some tlc and the rug under the bed needs to be professionally cleaned to remove stains. The coffee in the room was delicious but not having an espresso machine, I wasn’t quite sure how to use it. The radiator in the bathroom needs some attention. I had forgotten my charger plug n they very kindly gave me one to borrow. Would certainly recommend it n looking forward to staying again in June and having the amazing quality breakfast. 5*

Lewis is the greatest barman of all time. Friendly, knowledgeable and goes the extra mile! If Carlsberg made barmen... 😉 I will come again, not only for Lewis' abilities but also for the food, the atmosphere and the company!

Room was fantastic, and bearing in mind my wife has mobility problems was perfect being on ground floor with easy to access shower. Breakfast was spot on too. Parking easy. Staff were really so friendly and helped make our brief stay really memorable. Would highly recommend.
